Lint on microfiber towels

Hey guys I have some microfiber towels from pakshak about 5 months old I use them for wax removal. The problem is they leave lint behind is there any guess to why they do that? I wash them separately with warm water and regular detergent and dry low heat.

I've never figured out why they do it...I make them junk towels at that point.

I usually just buy my MF towels by the case from ADS. 36 Supreme Shine towels for $65.95. :2thumbs:
 
Before you relegate them to rough duty, try giving them another wash followed by two rinses including white vinegar. They seem a bit new to give up on so soon, though I don't know how much use they've seen in those 5 months.

Rasky, have you ever tried the Eurow MF's? I love them... they are the thickest, plushest, softest towel I've ever used. They're also the most expensive and they don't last very long. :( Just wondering how the Supreme Shine towels would compare to the Eurows. 36 MF's for 66 bucks is one heck of a deal. Guess we should expect that, though, cause Rick usually has the cheapest prices around.
 
The supreme shines are no where as thick as the eurows superbee. Theyre bigger, as in LxW but definitely dont have the same plushness. I have a couple and use them for polish removal/wax removal.



I was looking at the eurows for QDing, but since I stopped doing that I have no need for a towel that plush. I definitely wouldnt use the supreme shines for QDing. The short nap is good for product removal though.



If you have the orange vroom towels theyre like a step above those. Great price though on a decent MF.
 
Thanks Dsoto87. I guess I'll stick with the Eurows for a while, then. Sure wish they were still 15 bucks for a ten pack.

They always worked well in the past but most recently they started leaving lint behind it drives me nuts because I have a black vehicle! I also have a few microfiber towels from Adam's and I have no problem with them.

Target carries Vrroom MF towels, and their "drying towel" (it's the big yellow one) works great for LSP removal and it doesn't seem to lint. Best of all, it's cheap.

I'll give that a shot before they go to the dirty side. Should they be washed on delicate, hand wash or cotton sturdy?

I was tempted to grab some of those but was not to sure if they would induce swirls to the paint.

If that doesn't work, try boiling them. Get a stainless steel dutch oven and boil for about 20 mins. Worked on some Cobras that were linting.

I have not tired those yet, though I'm always up for something new. ;)



I just picked up some Ultra Plush from Pakshak and I have used several Cobra and CG towels as well. I do like the more expensive towels better but for the cost of the Supreme Shine's I can't justify spending $4+ per towel anymore. I do like to have some others on hand just in case I run across a finicky paint. :2thumbs:



Where do you get the Eurows from?
 
Rasky, I can get the Eurow's locally and would give you one or two to try. I like them, but I think they seem to attract lint if used in the dryer. I seem to have better luck with air drying, which is quicker now with the new HE front load washing machine.



I was going to try the bulk towels from ADS this summer but was waiting for some people to split the 100 count deal.

I'll trade you some Supreme Shiens for a Eurow. :D



I dry my towels in the dryer with no heat as I have way to many to hang dry... though I will hang dry my more expensive ones.

That's a really good point re: cost. As long as they do the job without marring, that's all that matters.



I had been buying them in ten packs right from Eurow, but they don't sell the ten packs anymore.



Eurow 10 pack Microfiber Shag Weave Towel has them for $26 per ten pack. Not a bad price for them. They were $30 straight from Eurow
 
silvSS03, I wash mine on the "heavy" cycle, hot water wash. I want the greater agitation.



Though I've never boiled a MF towel, I have read where people do it with satisfactory results. So that suggestion might be trying as well.
