lights and paint for the garage

I am going to be working on the garage very soon. What type of lights do you reccomend and how many? I was going to use either 4ft. flourescent or halogen track lights? Also, what color should I paint it or does it not matter? I was going to use a very light grey?

I think the 4 foot flourescent lights work best. They provide a more even light with less "hot" spots. The best wall color is white or light grey. It's neutral and light and will help reflect light. Get the floor painted as well which will help with reflected light and will keep things cleaner.

First I have to ask what size is the garage>? Then what are you going to use it for, Washing, waxing? Or just Storage? I Have 15 4ft. flourescent Lights in my 26X26 garage, I like it but I think that you can NEVER have to much light. Next I would paint it as light of color as you can, it will help make it brighter.

The garage is about 21x24. It would use it just for storage and waxing, washing would be done outside. The garage is opened everyday a few times as there is another car which is driven daily in it also, it is a two car grage. What do you suggest for the floor? It is cement, it was painted and the paint is all peeling, most of it is peeled off. The cement is not in that good of shape. It has a few cracks in it. One more question, the garage always seems like it is extremely dusty. I will put a coat of zaino on and 30 min. later go and check on it and the car gets very dusty. Is this from opening the garage or is this normal. Would cleaning the floor really good help, it is quite dusty/dirty? Redcarguy, your ss is abosolutely gorgeous, if I can get my black ws6 to look half that good, I would be extremely happy.

I would get a hose and wash out your garage, is there a gravel drive way? I think that the dust is just gettin kicked up and never leaving the garage. I havent painted my floor yet. I need to find out what brand and or paint/tile to use. Thanks for the comments on the SS.

Brad~ You should SSee my tan:D

No, the driveway is blacktop. I guess I will wash it out really good, I have not done it since I got the car and did not really notice until I got my trans am and started detailing it in the garage.
