Have both a swirl remover (#9, #82, SMR, etc) and DACP on hand. Try the swirl remover first on a section and see if that is strong enough. If not, then use the DACP. I find that swirl remover by hand is very mild, but then again you also say your swirls are light too.
I'm pretty sure that #82 is a lot like #9 in that it still has fillers (albeit small amounts like all swirl removers). People seem to like #82 more, but there's nothing wrong with #9 either.
