I did a Lexus this weekend. I love doing black cars. The difference is just so amazing that the customers eyes almost pop out of their heads when they see the car!
So here's what I did:
Wash w/ Dawn and a two bucket system
Clayed with DP Clay and DP lube
washed again
Polished with Mothers PP using LC orange pads (really could have used a yellow pad but didn't have one..have them coming though)
2 coats of CG 5050
Interior done with DP Interior Cleaner and Protectant
Leather cleaned and conditioned with DG product (I really liked the "leather" smell that the conditioner brought back out of the interior)
Wheel wells - Power Purple Citric Degreaser and a scrub brush then coated with Mothers Tire Shine
All rubber on car given DG Rubber dressing
Rims - Mothers chrome polish and (1) coat of CG5050
The polishing was a PITA cuz I was using an orange pad. It took me almost four hours to polish the whole car. :work:
A buddy of mine really helped a lot and did the wheels and interior for me whle I polished. He did a really good job for his first time! I also used CG5050 for the first time and am still deciding whether or not I like it. I am not sure if it was the weather or the temperature but it seemed to be a PITA the take off. There always seemed to be a spot I missed. I would go over the whole car and then find a spot that looked smudged. I would rub it off then find another one! I never had that problem with #105. Any comments on what might have been happening?
Anyway....here's the pics. As always let me know what you think!!
