Lexus RX 300/Acura MDX, 1st time using Jeffs Werkstatt line!

You do EXCELLENT work! IMHO, you should have charged more. If you break down $150 over 8 hours, that's only $18.75/hr. I think most "Autopian" pro detailers typically start around $30-$35/hr. and go up from there.

Awesome work for sure!!!

Thats really great work!

You did the roof to, so that's worth a little extra. Most people I run into dont want the roof done.

Are you saying you normally don't polish the roofs and just apply a protectant? I've wondered about this exact subject. How many people want to pay for the roof of their vehicle to be polished (particularly trucks & SUV's)? Then you also have to consider luggage racks and stuff. I'm definitely interested to hear more of what people normally do for this area.

Great work!! The cars look fantastic!! I am in the same boat when it comes to under charging. Everyone that hears what I charge tells me that I should be charging more...then they ask for a discount......:spit: J/K

I have been starting cars at $150 and truck and SUV's at $200. With the amount of work and care I put into my work I need to charge more. I feel that I need to start cars at $200 and trucks and SUV's at $275. Add on services would include headlight polishing, heavy interior stain removal, glass polishing....etc.

Being new to the business I too feel like I have not put in my time to be able to charge higher prices, but everyone here is right, charge what you think your time is worth. People that have seen your work will know that you ar worth it.

Keep up the good work!!

Same here. I seem to undercharge.

Sft... Don't be overly concerned about how much you charge. In fact, at your age - where you don't have a mortgage and ex-wives/kids.. and other heavy needs like that - I suggest you simply heavily pratice for a year with out paying attention to money. Don't be silly and give it away free, but use the time to build a reputation. Then: If it feels like a job - find something else to do.

I'm 90% dead from your age perspective and it took me 'till I was about 40 to find that thing that was: "Gee, this is natural and easy!" ..and People are willing to pay me to do it?!" Before that - everything was only work or less.

All the best.

Fantastic work, you should be proud.

The area/city one lives in has a great impact of what amount can be charged also. When I lived in Cedar Park (Austin) rates were based on $40 per hour. Once I moved to the Rio Grande Valley with much lower income and housing costs, $20 per hour is max with the clientele I've managed to gather. Labor is so cheap here that a "wash & wax" is about $45 tops.............it's actually a scratch & wax but people seem pleased as long as its cheap.

Keep up your work ethics regardless of price.:goodjob
