Let Me See Your Rig and a few other question

The title speaks for itself I want to start off saying that I'm new to this site as you can see since this is my first post. I'm 26 years out and been in the automotive paint industry for like 10 years and for the past year and a half been really wanting to start my own thing. I understand paint and buffing but as I'm reading some of you guys take it a step above. Well back to my title I just bought a ford econoline E250 and wanted to see pics of your interior set ups so I can get a ideal how I want to set mine up.



1 Pictures of the set up of your rigs.



2 I know some products from work but alot of stuff I see used up here is foreign to me so what your products of choice explain each product and how you use it in your different steps in your detail job. I don't know your abbreviation for products so I do want you to tell me the products real name and abbreviation so I can know what products people are speaking of on other threads.



3 I was thinking of getting the cyclo with dual heads whose uses this tool give the good and bad.



4 lastly any advice you have to offer will be greatly appreciated

I lived in Va beach for a few years. I used to paint with a buddy of mine at the hall honda dealership, his name is Marni. He still paints there.

My old boss had a pick-up with cap. He then had someone make and install a HUGE sliding table or sliding floor. All the chemicals, equipment, etc went on the sliding floor, at job sites, all you do is roll it out so you don't have to keep climbing in and out.



Since you have a van, I would say to either build shelves on the sides or try the rolling floor. With a van you would only need few feet of rolling floor. I would make it so that it comes short of the mid doors on the side. Actually, you can probably builld shelves and do the floor too. The floor fits between the wheel wells.

I think very few are going to be tossing up pictures of their rigs for a few reasons. After two break-in attempts in less than a month, I barely allow my clients to see the inside of my van!



You're in good shape with a E250. There are very few ways to set up a van for detailing. Diesel1 gives a good explanation. When building my set-up, I purchased everything that was necessary to operate at the volume and level I desired; PW, Generator, Extractor, Vacuum, Water Reclamation, Water Tank, Hose Reels, etc even considering leaving space for future purchases. Once I had either the tool or the dimensions for my next purchase I mapped it all out, many, many times. I built mine so that I wash cars outta the rear and detail outta the side. Sort of like two workstations. That keeps me from unnecessary trips around the van. The stuff I use most frequently is closest to the door but the stuff I use monthly isn't dug in there too deep. What I cannot stress enough, bolt everything down in twice as many locations that you would initially assume needed. If not only to keep it in place, increase the amount of work that a thief might have to put into the job. I've got close to $100 worth in hardware throughout. :nervous:

Thanks so much AMDin93103 I was just having the problem of figuring out were to put the water tank powerwasher and generator. I think the way you mentioned it set up sounds somewhat like what I wanted to do. What size watertank are people putting in there vehicles. I'm new here so didn't know about the break ins but that isunderstandable why people will not want to post pics but hopefully they will atleast write in. What size of different equiptment do you have such as generator,compressor,powerwasher I just want to get a ideal what I need without getting to much. this is the only picture I found on a website on the internet
