Now it's time to bring it in and prep it and clay it.

I used Clay magic blue fine clay and Show room shine as clay lube.

This is just half the hood!

Now it's time for the compounding stage, I used my Flex 3401 with Lake country Cyan Hydrotech pad, with Meguiars M105.

Next after the Compounding stage I polish the paint with a Tangerine Hydrotech pad and Meguiars M205 polish.

After the paint was polished I sealed it using Black Fire Wet Diamond

then I polished the wheels using Bushes Polsih

and then treated the door jams with 303

Eric, nice work! Candy is sweet... When you applied the 303 to the engine did you actually spray it on instead of using a applicator? Also, did you wipe it back off?

Thanks for the great show!

Yes when I apply it to the engine I spray it liberally and let it dry mostly on it's own. then came back at the end of the detail and wiped it all down to a dry non-greasy finish. and it always turns out great, with out any streaks.

Gorgeous! So what's the APC stuff that you're always using on engine bays? I'd like to try it sometime.

the APC is all purpose cleaner. Meguiars has some. there are lots of different name brands, but most all do the same. its what I use for interior detailing too.

Great work Tru Shine! What product(s) did you use to clean the tires? I've got brown tires (thanks to dealer applied gunk) that I can't restore back to black. I've tried Amazing Roll Off 1:1 and Adam's APC 1:1 with no luck.

You inadvertantly answered a question I was about to ask. Factory racing stripes on cars are apparently UNDER the clearcoat, at least for Dodge. I say this because you are using the polisher on them. Is it true also for late model Mustangs?

Great job on the Viper!

Well I was about to tell you APC, but since you have tried that and it didn't work. I would say lacquer thinner. but dont soak the tire with it. pour the thinner on a thick folded terry cloth and rub it around the face of the tire a couple of times and that should do it. but dont let it soak on the tire and wear gloves too.

thanks, the stripes are actually on top of the blue. it was like this on the 97 and the 06 viper that I done for this guy.
