Lessons Learned....

I would agree that more often than not you the more you pay the better chances you will get something better. Now, it does not mean you can get better for less but often it is more hit or miss.

I think the lesson I have is for myself (and others based upon some postings) is that you should never judge a product by just one use. I have seen the identical product behave differently in part due to the environmental factors (rain, pollen, etc) affect beading, slickness, and durability.

Amen. Very insightful and absolutely correct statement.

Oh yeah, always take care of, and don't pi$$ off the following people:

your doctor
the person who regularly prepares your food
a good and trusted mechanic
and your mother :notworthy:
Heard a slightly different version:

Your barber
Your banker
Your dentist
Your proctologist... :scared:

Whoa! All of the above! I don't want to upset ANY of those people!!!;)

If it sounds too good to be true it's hype at best - how many times has the easy way out worked for you? I'm reminded of a recent super sponge with soap and wax all combined, but wait, there's more!... If the product meets all claims I might need a good crow recipe (after this post) but it probably would sound too good to be true as well :)

Amen to that! :notworthy:

I am always polite and say "thank you" to whoever took my order through the drive-thru or at the counter. I throw my mechanic a $5 or $10 tip after any service (he's very trustworthy and takes good care of all of my family's cars). And I am ALWAYS polite to my mother. :D

One thing I've learned from both on the forums and in real life, "Respect a man's car and he will respect you".

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!"

I just spoke to a friend to decided to replace the engine in his classic '65 Mustang 2+2 Fastback, with a 408 "stroker" motor.

Since he made the change, he's had nothing but trouble. He called it a "A $5000 Nightmare".

BTW..... there was nothing wrong with the original motor.:out::out::out:

"Never Give an Estimate Over the Phone!!!!!

Yep, I've been caught on that one too! This was before I started charging by the hour... Haha!!

The guy was a good friend of mine and wanted his father's pickup truck detailed for his birthday.

I was asking questions about the condition of the truck and his most common response was:

Oh, it ain't bad.

I was guessing 4 hours over the phone and it took OVER 10 HOURS! :scared::scared::scared:

I changed to an hourly rate the next day. Valuable lesson learned.;)

Never believe the guy who tells you this:

"You just have to trust me. I've done this a thousand times!

The last time I heard that line, I ended up with a 12" long deep scratch in the hood of my Corvette.:cursing::cursing::cursing:

(Long story)
