Leather seat bolsters faded and cracked- what to do?

Steveo,

How did you manage to get the bolsters to look like they are filled? Its just the after sanding pics look like there is still cracks in the leather. I am curious as my drivers seat needs doing.

erm , well no camera tricks or anything

the after sanding pics show the original color deep down in the crease where it has folded repeatedly over time, the sanding removed the cracked upper surface so it was all smooth and uniform, the actual leather wasnt cracked , just the upper coating

3-4 coats of dye and it looked like that...*note* the before pics are with the cover off the the seat, i fitted it again for dying so that the leather was pulled tight

if you do have cracks or bad damage they do sell a filler product and a re texture for worse damage( i have no idea how good/durable they are)

any more questions...just ask :)

I have the same leather in my M3, it will last if you take care of it, but I think yours in DONE.

Look in BMW forums and look for people who are ditching their seats for a good deal.
