Leather Conditioner

I agree. the Gold Class is another great product which i need to get more of. I would love to try the Duragloss now.

Not a fan of Lexol. I find it hardens the leather and thus to a degree promotes cracking. This is my opinion.

I use only Lexus cleaner and conditioner. The cleaner is gentle, easy to apply and effective. The conditioner keeps the leather in new condition, makes it soft and buttery to the feel, and smells lightly of bananas. Truely amazing products. I have 75K on my leather and it looks and feels nearly new.

Thanks for all the reply's guys, I appreciate it.

To be honest, the leather in C5's is poor quality. They can look pretty worn even if if you condition them regularly. There have been several good suggestions in this thread. Just know that there is only so much you can do with what you've got. Some guys get aftermarket leather skins installed. The difference in quality is night and day......

Good luck.......:xyxthumbs

Where do you get your Lexus Cleaner/Conditioner? My local Toyota/Lexus dealership doesn't stock it.

I use Sonus leather care products on my Carrera S. No glossy finish when done and leaves me with a new Porsche interior smell.

You will have to check another Lexus dealership. Or have them order it in for you. You will be glad you did!!

From what I can tell Lexus leather care products may be made by Mothers. Mothers seems to be the only one claiming neats-foot oil and the Lexus product description mentions it.

Another vote for Zaino's cleaner and conditioner. They clean well, leave the leather looking great, and have a very nice leather-y smell to them.

I can't put my .02 cents because everyone beat me to it, All those products will work .........:up

I have been informed in this forum, that the Lexus stuff is made by their leather provider specifically for their leather. Not Mothers.

I wouldnt be surprised if it is made by Mother's. since the Mercedes stuff is made by Meg's.

Zaino Z10.

No lie, guy gets in my car two days ago and says...

"How old is this car"

"3 years old, why?"

"I just bought a car, and it doesn't even smell this new... What do you use on the leather?"

Although I have not personally used Mothers, it has been reported Mothers smells like coco butter or somewhere between vanilla and coconut.

Same with my C2S. I've tried numerous products. Zaino being my go-to product, but found the formula of Z-10 I have now has a very high leather smell/odor. I know that Sal Zaino reformulated it and it should be less of the heavy leather odor and more closer to original new leathers.

The Sonus acts to release what tanning oils were used when the Porsche leather was done. Very nasty out of the bottle, but open the car after an hour, and I get the new leather smell.

For cleaning leather, 6 parts Distilled water and 1 part Woolite. Most leather cleaners are based on a very similar formula but add coloring and fragrance.

1Z Lederpflege also rates very high for leather treatment/conditioner.

Recently I bought TW Platinum leather cleaner/conditioner for $3 at Big lots. VERY pleasantly surprised. No shine and smells great. The best part is that the leather smell actually lasts a few weeks.

I have found the turtle wax platinum products to be the best bang for the buck. I have used lexol and meguirs leasther cleaners and conditioners and found the TW platinum leather cleaner/conditioner to be their equal. I went back to get some TW platinum car wash and found they were all sold out, arghhhh. That was a good bargain at $4 for a 5/4 gallon.
