Hmmmmm I would honestly say, windows is always a big one cause getting it perfect is a PITA. Polishing might be one on my list, but of course it's with a PC, maybe once I pick up on the Makita I'll probably enjoy it more :)

Well written poll! I really had to think about this one. I really hate the prelim work (washing and claying) for just the reason you stated - I want to get to the real job! Windows aren't so bad - fairly quick and quite gratifying.

Wheels and Interiors are really time consuming and don't always have the externally visible impact, but that final walkaround! I'll call a job done after 6 hours, and then spend another hour or so walking around with a q-tip and MF, wiping, buffing and nitpicking.

Thanks Sam,

I kind of liked writing this poll...I am looking forward to seeing the results in the end.

Going to add one more thing that is not in the poll - Engines.

Engine cleaning is definately not something that I look forward to doing.

I hate wheels. Bending down to get in the nooks and crannies is a royal PIA and my reward is a brrake dust splattered tshirt. Tires suck too, they are always dirty no matter what I do. Windows are close second. They never seem to get clean and stay clean.

Windows for me, especially on cars, where it is a PITA to get the rear window streak free. I don't mind wheels/tires/wells, but it is the part of the wash that gets me the most wet with all the rinsing and spraying, which is not too fun when it's cold out. Some days I really lack the patience for polishing, too.

None of the above.

I dont know why but I sweat like a pig and get severe headach's every time I detail my or any other car. Makes it tottaly miserable for me to the point that I no longer do it as often as I used to.

My least favorite part of detailing is doing the front/rear bumpers because not only do I have to deal with a curvy surface, but I have to sit on my a$$ to do it and all that getting up and sitting down takes a toll by the end of the day.

But since that's not on the list, my 2nd least favorite to do are the wheels. I don't know how some of you can do a wash (including wheels) so quick? I either have to kneel (which is hard on the knees) or sit on a step stool. And then the chemicals are usually more harsh than any other product I use. Let's not forget about all the splatter that gets on your body and your clothes, splatter that doesn't easily rinse off when you shower. You have to scrub that crap off. I don't mind sweating. I don't mind getting wet. But all the stuff that gets on me after I do the wheels makes me feel so nasty after I'm done.

I can't believe you guys don't like Windows! It's so easy with good MF and some water. Wheels and tires are by far the worst part of a detail, unless you are doing an engine detail which can also be frustrating.

Windows.. just when you think they are clean and streak free, you look at them from another angle and see...

:hairpull :hairpull :hairpull @#$%^&! streaks! :hairpull :hairpull :hairpull

You know what's made windows much easier for me is using 2 seperate mf towels. to clean use a glass specific mf towel (the kind you get next to the Walmart ww mf towels) and 2nd towel use a costco/sam's club generic mf towel to wipe it dry. I get cleaner windows with less streaks doing it this way. I find it to be even faster than using 1 towel and flipping to the dry side to wipe.

I dunno what I dislike the most, I really don't.

Sounds like you need to find some more-user-friendly approach. I don't really *enjoy* detailing all that much, but if you find it *that* unpleasant I bet there's some way to make it easier.

I need an all of the above option, lol

I mean, its not that bad, and working on nice cars makes it worth while, but honestly, who really enjoys this type of labor intensive work!

anyway, i voted windows. I hate em.

good post/poll though :)

Absoultey windows! I have discovered a process involving magic erasers on non-tinted windows and extra MF's and vinegar before a final IG wipethrough that basically gets rids of streaks all together on inside windows.

It is also physically demanding, since I have to strain to clean the back window (unnatural movements) well.

but its time consuming. And so is a full detail on the interior (meaning APC and 303 application) + vacuuming every place. I don't even have a big car unlike some of you... so I can't imagine how much worse it can be for others. eek.
