Least aggressive way to clean this? (water spot related)

Hi all,



I will sometimes have to park next to a sprinkler system (like last night), which mists the whole side of my car. I know if I leave this alone it'll cause water spots/etching which I don't want to happen.



It's a brand new vehicle, and I don't want to be overly aggressive with abrasive cleaners or anything like that.



What would you reccomend I use both short term (as in cleaning it off today) and also long term (when I've waxed it)?



I have a Mr. Clean autodry and was thinking I could just rinse it off with the filtered rinse, but I don't know how quickly the spots start to etch?



I did search here on water spots but all I really found was how to remove them, rather than how to stop them forming.

Washing with Mr.Clean Autodry will do nothing for water spots. For a least abrasive approach, try Klasse All In One. If chemical cleaners don't work, a mild polish might be needed.
 
there is not really a way to stop them from forming, except don't park near the source. you can try use a QD when the water is still wet just to get it off ASAP and you shouldnt have any problems, but you probably arent there waiting for the sprinklers to turn off.



if the spots don't come off wihtout a regular wash, you can try mixing distilled white viengar and distilled water in a spray bottle and see if that will remove them. next least aggressive is clay bar
 
Is it possible to talk to the property manager to have them re-direct the sprinkler away from the parking area?

I've used straight white vinegar on black Cadillacs at work with no issues... I just make sure to wipe it off quick with a MF the same way you would with a QD.



I would try:



1. QD or wash

2. vinegar

3. mild hand polish

4. clay
