Lease a building vs working from home?? Please help!

Damn I gotta retype my message because my token expired or something.

Anyway, I've been debating about getting a shop as well. I want to spend another 6 months or so building up my clientele and see where I am this summer and how well business goes. I think its a great idea that you're doing more than just detailing like tint and wheels. How much is a wheel balancer? heard those things arent cheap, or are you just going to sell the wheels? Also I'd throw in HID's. There is a store in ATL that does 400 HID kits a week..sells them very cheap w/ warranty..hard to beat. Also remember those crap *** $4.99 car washes are popping up everywhere and most people are trying to save money then care for their paint and don't realize the difference. Hope this helps. keep us updated

I just started looking at shops and they are way out of my pricerange currently, but what about subletting out a spot from someone or even sharing the rent with someone else? I currently have a contract with a local truck accessory place and am considering taking one of thier unused mechanics bays in the springtime if business continues the way it is now. THey will partition it off with 2x4 and separate entrance so I can have my own hours instead of following thier schedule. The good thing is the sales people in the front of the building are already selling my services to the clients that are coming in. Maybe you can find something similar local to you? A lot of people are struggling and would be willing to sublet out small portions of their space. YOu would either have to make sure it is ok with the landlord (unlikely)of have the shop own the building you are subletting.
