Learned something this weekend

This weekend I applied another (3rd) layer of EX-P. I started by priming my PVA Applicator with distilled water. I primed it then wrang it out. As I was applying I noticed that it was really hard to apread a thin layer. As I progressed it got harder and harder to do so. So I figured what the heck I will prime the app more and this time not wring it out so much. Guess what? The EX-P went on so thing that I could hardly see it. So every so often I primed and applied til I was finished. Upon removal I noticed no difference in the finish between the heavy coat and the thin coat. The only difference was that the thin coated area was 1000x easier to remove.

So what did I learn?

Dont be afraid to really prime the pad and if it looks too thin it isnt!!

Came out great by the way

Yup thats what alot of members recommend for applying liquid waxes or sealants. Just be sure to not dilute the sealants or you will get iffy results. :)

I'm still learning how to apply thin coats with the PVA. I am improving. My 6th coat of EX-P will be applied today weather permitting.

I use the blue Viking app with the foam handle. I always prime the pad by giving it one or two fine mist spritizes with regular water. Doesn't matter what product I'm using. If the pad is dry I dampen it.
