Layers of different waxes.

all in the details
Hi all.
This weekend I'm planing on washing and waxing my car .
Right now it has a layer of Wolfgang Paintwork Polish Enhancer ,2 coats of Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant one coat of Pinnacle Liquid Souveran Wax. and a layer of Collinite Liquid Insulator Wax (No. 845).
all of these coats of waxes and sealant have been applied gradually from 2-3 months ago.

My question is is it alright to keep doing it this way ?
If I wash the car and just dry it and leave it, I would feel like I could do more to give the shine more depth/wet look,so I would like to add a coat of Pinnacle liquid wax instead of a QD,plus it gives me a chance to apply the wax with my new PC that I just bought:yay,What do you all think? Am I going over board?
Thanks.
Ken.

I wouldn't layer liquid waxes. The level of solvent in a liquid wax is enough to take the previous layer off. It sounds like you are layering just for the sake of layering. It isn't always necessary to put a coat of wax on the car. Once you achieve the look you are going for it is time to just sit back and let the car shine. Putting too much wax on the surface will cause the surface to lose depth and that would be counter productive to the goal. Personally I would have stopped at three layers of Wolfgang and called it a day. I've never felt that anything can really enhance what Wolfgang accomplishes.

I didn't know that about liquid wax,the reason why I didn't stop at WG sealant is it that it didn't really give the paint enough depth or wet look, that's why I used liquid wax over it and I was"relatively" happy with the shine it produced then.
I find it hard to achieve enough depth with this colour (Galaxy Grey)it's like lightish Grey ,and no matter how many layers I put on this car I just don't get the shine I'm looking for.
BTW thank you for your input, any tips on waxing light grey?

I've got a phantom grey car and a silver truck. I've found with both those colors it is rough to get really good appearance out of them. I mean, it isn't like black or dark red or something. You just have to know it looks like when that color looks its best. With silver I've had great luck with Danase Acrylic Sealant. For my phantom grey I put three coats of Wolfgang on it and I'm very happy. I'm not expecting the depth of black or the wetness of red, so what I get is very satisfactory. If you expect it to do something that isn't possible, then you will constantly be disappointed and will waste a lot of product.

Here is three coats of Wolfgang on Phantom Grey:

Silver and light grey are probably not quite the same things, but you get the idea. Anyway, my advice is to experiment a little bit so you know what the potential of the color really is and then stop once you get there. I stop with three layers of WG because that seems to be the peak of appearance for my eyes. After that I just QD and maybe a spray sealant or something down the road to refresh it.

If you are looking for a little more shine to your sealant treatment then I would suggest paste waxes instead of liquids. I'm never going to bash Liquid Souveran. It is one of my favorite liquid products. I just wouldn't suggest using a liquid wax over a sealant. It isn't the best use of one. Stick to paste waxes if you are going to be layering them. :bigups

I do not layer liquid waxes because of the cleaners/solvents in them.
I do layer paste waxes.:passout:

Well as I said on my previous post I Had no idea about the cleaning effect of solvents in liquid wax,you live and you learn.
I'll be sticking to WG sealant for now .thanks guys.

Have you considered Wofgang Sealant and a paste wax. WS and Souveran is one of my favorite combinations.

WG sealant and no wax?:passout:

I know Jngrbrdman does not agree with putting anything on top of WG sealant but I can't help it I,m a wax/carnauba junky:rofl so I went to the local HW store and found Mother's Pure Carneuba wax :dnaughty.
now I can top my sealant or even Collinite with carnauba, and I know this wax is pure and has no solvent, expensive though.I would like to experiment until I find the right shine then I'll relax.
