Layering Synthetics?

Got my latest order in, Menzernz FMJ, Blackfire All finish paint protection, and Klasse SG. I already have Acrylic Jett and NXT. Is there any benefit or downfall to layering any of these products?

Most manufacturers admit that there is no beneift beyond 2-3 coats of a layerable sealant. Beyond that, it is diminishing returns for both durability and shine/gloss.

NXT is not what I would consider a layerable product, due to its cleaners. It will remove prior applications of whatever is underneath it.

I experienced greatly increased durability by layer KSG (one-three gives OK durability, four layers gives good durability, but six gives extraordinary durability), but no such benefits that I could discern from layering BF and UPP. For those two, I like to apply two-three applications to ensure adequate coverage, but then I just reapply when the slickness drops off.

It might sound crazy, but a while back, my Dad literally had 25 coats of the original Zaino polish Z2 on his red NSX. That was a good amount of protection. You could wipe off bugs with your fingertip from the front end no problem.

Oh for sure, you can keep going as long as you want really. I remember back when I was crazy about Zaino, I too had somewhere bewteen 15-20 coats on the car, at the peak of my insanity. The car looked great, no doubt, and never lost a hint of beading, but it was really just a waste of time and product, looking back...
