Layering Product - Wash or Dust?

Hi folks,

Many thanks for the replies on my SG issue. I'd like to add another layer of SG after work today (It's been 24 hours) and not sure if I need to wash the car again or run the California Duster over it. The car has been in the garage since I finished detailing it.

Any thoughts?

I wouldn't use a California Car Duster under any conditions. IMO you are just asking for marring. I'm sure there will be many that will disagree with me but a California Car Duster will never touch my paint.

If the car has been in the garage since you last applied SG and the dusting is very light I would QD with a non carnauba QD. The QD needs to be non carnauba or SG will not bond properly.

Some QD's I have used with SG and had no problems with:

Megs #34 Final Inspection

Mothers Showtime

Eagle One Wet Wipe and Shine

If the car has been garaged and you want to use a duster on it, I would still recommend you QD it after dusting. Dusting alone won't be good enough, and I personally always dust prior to QDing to get the larger dust particles first. JMHO.
