I agree- kind of odd and it's why this thread peaked my interest. I'd like to see some more/different testing done at some point, other than just claims of what might be increased longevity. I always like to see as much objective data as possible.
I'm not one of those guys who thinks layering is a ploy to increase sales, but am more interested in the different properties of various LSPs.
