Anyway, you can apply every coupla weeks if you want, but I don't. It's still on the hood my wife's car, and it's been 3 months. I have 2 x SG, #7 and PUPP on it.

I really don't have to prove my credentials to anyone on here. I posted general informative information and facts......take that and apply it however you deem fit.



For your information, I do have a technical degree in chemical engineering and concetrated my undergraduate research in polymer chemistry. I have worked in industry exclusively with polyurathane and silicone sealants some of which are used in the automotive industry. When bringing a product to market, a lot of scientific testing and research is required. The extent of this differs from industry to industry. One of our products was a moisture cured polyurethane sealant used to install windshields in automobiles's. Virtually all the OEM's use the stuff. Imagine the liability the company would have if the proper testing and research was not completed before this product went to market. Imagine if some bozo in the marketing group wanted to add an oil for color or fragrance, which compromised crosslinking, curing, and yield strength. Imagine the consequences if someone just said "nonsense" when a concern arose about adding an oil to the product with out proper testing. Hell, if we switched manufactures for raw material ingredients we did extensive quality and performance testing.



The polish and wax industry is not the same. It's actually sad that most products do not deliver as claimed. After all, every product is the longest lasting and has the best shine.......sure they are....they say so on the bottle!! What would happen if a product really didnt cross link on your paint. Who would notice? Who would care? What liability would there be? NONE. Just abuot any bozo can do some basement chemistry and whip up a detailing product cheap and easy. I am just giving an explanation why some products last longer than others, and continue to shine wash after wash after wash. This industry is not rocket science, but when it comes to polymer formulations, there is a reason why some stand out above the rest.....its called technology and putting the research dollars in to make a quality product.
 
How much of that awesome shine of the AIO / SG combo do you loose when you wash the vehicle?



I know what I am using now there is a difference of night and day after a wash.



Thats why I am considering going to AIO / SG

I'm curious . . . I've seen my bottles of Z2 separate slightly, not too differently from the picture (although it tends to take quite a long time of sitting on the shelf). So, when Zaino separates out, what's the top layer? The solvents? I'm assuming it can't be oils for the various reasons mentioned . . . ?



Another question for those with some chem background that can provide insight. . . the new version of Z seems to be more prone to smearing than the previous incarnation. From what I've read, KSG has the occasional smear/haze problem. What is the cause of smearing with "pure" polymer-type sealants (i.e., those not containing oils)? Incomplete cross-linking?

No problem. And you didn't waste your money. But as DK elaborated, the oils are probably why it does not last as long as SG, Z, etc.

As far as I have been able to tell, the appearance hardly changes at all for Klasse, wash after wash. It looks great as long as the paint is clean.
 
I was reading this thinking "Man, look how autopia use to be, just like ole times, man this is nice.....
