2002 Porsche Carrera. Owner keeps it absolutely immaculate, he even had already washed it! Paint was decent slick (he has used Zaino but said it just had wax on it before I started). Looked shiny but a little flat and had minor cobwebbing. I started with Optimum Polish using a Meguiars polishing pad, then used Clearkote's Vanilla Moose with a Meguiars polishing pad, then Red Machine Glaze with a blue Propel finishing pad and topped with Pinnacle Souveran by hand.

Notice how deep the black is compared to the above pic when there is not as much to reflect sharply off the paint.

I am starting to rethink how durable Souveran may actually be. The killer look lasts about 6, maybe 8 weeks on a daily driver but I have noted it does bead longer than that. I waxed this Rolls with Souveran on August 16th, and took the picture today, November 2nd. The car is a daily driver, I haven't seen his Escalade in ages. He has had it about 18 months and it has nearly 23,000 miles on it. Point is, the car hasn't been just sitting since I waxed it. We haven't had much rain since it was waxed but the average high in September was nearly 100!

Nice beading, wouldn't you say?

How about some more shots of the Supra TT? Optimum Polish (hood and roof only) and Klasse AIO using a Meguiars polishing pad, Jeff's Werkstatt Acrylic Jett by hand, Pinnacle Paste Glaz by hand.

Bad storms in the morning into early afternoon but we ended up with an great sunset, as you can see reflected in the first pic.

2002 Jaguar S Type. Detailed the interior today. I also tried Zaino Z8 on it today after washing it but the sun was pretty much down when I finished so I didn't even bother taking pics. I hate when we go back on standard time. :(

Cleaned with water/Woolite mixture, vinyl dressed with Meguiars Interior Quick Detailer and leather with Turtle Wax Leather Conditioner. The floor mat really isn't that dark, I had to use the flash so the lighting isn't proper.

Now for some Collinite 845 Insulator Wax pics. I got a couple better pictures of the Expidtion I waxed last week with 845. It absolutely poured on Monday but the streets were dry on the owner's way to and from work and the rain washed it clean! I normally would have washed it today but she said there was no need, and as the pics show, it still looked really clean. I couldn't see any spotting from the rain anywhere! The wheels have some brake dust though. Not sure what they did when they redesigned the Expidition in '04 but the brakes dust like mad.

2003 Chevy Silverado. Regular wash customer. The truck really does need some polishing but they have been doing construction all summer on his street and won't be done until late winter/early spring. No real point in making it perfect until then. Simply tossed on a coat of 845 to tide it over until then. It gave the paint an incredibly wet look. :)

Great results across the cars as ever Scott, loving the Porsche with one of my fave combos VM followed by RMG. Stunning.

Nice work Scott.

Just to play Devil's Advocate for a moment, does the Rolls have ceramic paint? Would it bead that much anyway with very little wax on it? Maybe the surface is just of that high quality anyway. Also, I find a higher frequency of washing also tends to kill of carnaubas.

Just asking because if you can get 3+ months out of a carnauba, then why I am messing with sealants on my black car? In my experience, sun and frequent washes just kills anything natural.

Fantastic as always Mr Wax :grinno:

The combo on that 996 has been written down and pinned to my garage wall - gotta try that on my black car for sure.

Love the first Supra shot too

The Porsche and Supra shots are simply stunning... do you always use a blue pad with RMG? I've seen a few folks using white polishing pads for both, just wondered if it matters much?

yup.. the VM RMG on the Porsche made the difference alright.. wow !

and that souveran beading ! wow ! I hope my Natty's x 2 performs in that manner in another 7 weeks :D

I gave up writing about Souveran's durability a long time ago.

2 coats over a proper prep will last 2 months with care (not mixing the shampoo at double strength, using QD when applicable). It's about the same as any other high qualilty carnauba blend. IMO the reason the "pop" goes away is that it is so pronounced to begin with.

That Porsche looks glass-coated!!:bigups

I'm also curious if it's the Souveran that's beading or the Rolls paint. I know it's a very special paint process that takes like 2 weeks per car or something like that!

OMG that Porsche. That's just a stunning car and the detail really highlights the beauty. I think that particular body style is timeless. Just beautiful with the understated, yet sporty wheels, bright red calipers, and infinitely deep, black paint. What did you do with the tires?

Scott... fantastic as usual!

I have a question for you, though, though, concerning waxing dark colors. I have two clients with black cars.. one is a 2004 Porsche Cayenne, the other is a 2004 Mustang GT. Whenever I apply the LSP to the black finishes, the LSP looks streaky, but only on the horizontal surfaces. I use a Sonus microfiber applicator pad to apply the LSP's.

The "streakiness" is dramatically lessened after using a QD (I use Meguiar's Final Inspection). This has happened to me on both cool dry days as well as hot, humid days with both carnauba waxes and synthetics.

Any tips to avoid the "streakiness" would be greatly appreciated!

Justin and Drew-About the Rolls paint--the car's build date is 1/04 so the paint is nearly 2 years old. BMW is building them now and since this car does have some orange peel, it seems the painting process isn't as exact as it used to be. In addition, I am not aware of BMW yet using PPG's CeramiClear and regardless, I have a customer with an S500 with the CC paint and since he maybe has me wax it 2-3 times a year, it never has the continual slickness and tight beading the Rolls does.

The last deep polishing on the Rolls was on August 13th and I used Acrylic Jett as my LSP and a month later, topped it with Souveran. I wash it conventionally 2-3 times a month and he will wash it himself on occasion (has a pressure washer and reverse osmosis/DI system at his house).

The ad copy for Souveran says it excels in hot weather. :nixweiss

Richard-is almost seems to me that the blue Propel pad was designed with RMG in mind, at least for the way I use it. RMG has very little true cleaning properties, I use it to add depth and wetness to the paint and a mid level finishing pad seems perfect for that task.

Tyler-I didn't even touch the wheels. That is how they looked when I got there. He said all he wanted me to do is take the paint to the next level so he could maintain it monthly and have me out 3-4 times a year to keep it looking its best. The owner obviously has some detailing skills of his own but really isn't interested in working the paint himself beyond a hand glaze and LSP.

Gonzo-start applying the wax on vertical surfaces first. 9 times out of 10, people start with the hood of the car and at that point, the applicator pad is dry and people tend to use a bit too much product until the pad is primed. I had the same problem, applying wax in other areas besides the hood or trunk lid first really helps. Completely removing any excess residue from the glazing or final polishing step also reduces streaking.

Just when you think the Porsche was already perfect, you improve on it even more. Great job on all the rides. (A Rolls as a daily driver, must be nice.)
