First, a few beading pics. Optimum Car Wax is the LSP. :)

The close-ups would have been better with a macro lens but I don't have one. :(

=============

2003 Honda Accord. Did this one back in January with Shokar polish and sealant (the beta vesion of Acrylic Jett). Still looked good, beading was just okay and the paint was smooth but not really slick. Shokar was pretty much gone at the 8 month mark. It belongs to a college kid, not sure how he takes car of it.

Anyway, paint didn't need any deep polishing, so I went with Klasse AIO with a Meguiars polishing pad and Jeff's Werkstatt Acrylic Jett by hand.

Cleaned the interior with Woolite/water, dressed the leather with Turtle Wax Leather Cleaner/conditioner and the vinyl with Meguiars Interior Quick Detailer.

2003 Lexus LS430. Owner bought it at an auction. The company he bought it from said they'd "detail it" and I guess they did, if by "detail" they really meant they'd swirl the crap out of it.

All the afters are following Optimum Car Polish with a Meguiars Polishing pad, although I did go over the hood and trunk lid after the taking the pics with Detailer's Pride Super Swirl Eliminator w/Meguiars polishing pad to get rid of some halo swirls on the hood (which seem to take more work than rotary swirls) and real bad scuffing on the trunk lid, then again with Optimum/Meguiars pad combo.

I worked the Optimum into the paint with the speed on 5, then kicked it up to 6 for several very slow (maybe 1/2 to 1" per second) passes.

Getting consistant shots were tough, hazy sunshine and lots of passing thicker clouds.

After:

Before-you can see the difference in darkness between the polished passenger door and untouched driver's door. Hazing and swirls reduce the true color of the paint significantly!

Before (upper half of the hood already polished, you can see where the swirls end):

After-the mark on the hood is some sort of etching, maybe bird doodie or bug guts? Looks a little hazy, didn't wipe the Optimum off very cleanly.

Most sunny for the whole car shots-finished it off with Poorboy's EX-P. The car is a dark metallic green but at an angle, looks almost black. In fact, when I first pulled up, I thought it was a black car!

How old is the wax on the Mazda? Beads don't seem to tight...

I applied it last week.

Beads were super tight when it rained lightly, it poured then stopped just before I took the pics. There were bead traces running down the hood like crazy when it was raining.

Dang! It does look black in the last two pics. Nice! Great example of how a PC can remove holograms left over by the rotary. :D I like the interior shot of the Accord too.

You should have seen the look on the husband's face when he ran his fingers across the rear fender... "honey, come here! You have to feel this"!
