Latest detailsâ„¢ v.Filthy X5 and polishing black paint in the sun

That reflection on the LS430 is amazing. I swear, they have some of the absolute best black paint on the market. Of course, your skills only make it look better. The Acura looks exactly like the one I bought a month ago. Unfortunately, mine is in the shop. Someone was nice enough to back into it with 1400 miles on it. Don't worry, they were unbiased, they hit my wife's car too. And they were nice enough to avoid the 15 year old Honda, thanks! I digress. Everyone I know with a BMW has the same terrible problems with brakes dusting. Must be in the compound they use.

Is there no orange peel on the lexus then? That is THE most crispt shot I have ever seen, just looks like chrome.

Amazing, the red really comes out too on the X5. Job well done!

Yes, very little orange peel on the Lexus. That car has about the best paint I've seen except for a Bentley I used to detail.

A clean SS black Lexus LS430 polished to perfection =

Ahh, look at that LS... :faint:

:xyxthumbs

Look, it even has the Smart Key system. :grinno:

Great job, as always, Scott! :bow :bow :bigups

I especially like the shine on the LS430! Black never looks better than after one of your details!

Excellent work as always :bow

In these last set of pics I noticed you used VM to do alot of light swirl removing. I have been thinking about ordering some just to do that on my own vehicles, but have one question. When using VM and a polishing pad, do you have to tape off black trim and mouldings to keep from marring them, or is this combo gentle enuff to not have to worry about that?

Thanks :)

I have a qustion, were you referring to both the the RX300 and the LS430 or just the LS430?

If it's just the LS430, how does its paint stack up against the same SS black on the RX300? Is the quality of the paint reduced?

VM works on plastic molding, glass, chrome, etc. I really like VM for light swirl removal on single stage paints. On really hard paint it won't do a whole lot other than refine the polishing already done.

CarsFreak-I was referring to the LS430. The RX300 also had very nice paint in terms of orange peel, but the LS has one of the best assembly line paint jobs I have ever seen.
