Latest details v.truly frightening Sonoma and I tried Glare too

You have very lucky customers for having someone like you take care of their cars.

What did you use on the Lexus tires?

Scott, the owner of this vehicle doesn't deserve someone with your outstanding talent to have their truck detailed by you. He obviously won't appreciate what you have achieved for him. What a shame.....

I doubt he had the same thought of mind as his grandfather which he inherited the truck from. I'm sure he appreciated it.

And that truck looks amazing Scott. I hope to someday be as competant as you when it comes to detailing.

Even though it can be alot of work I enjoy working on vehicles that need some TLC (every now and again, I'm sure it can get old) just to see how better looking the outcome will be.

Agreed. I love the reaction I get when someone brings a real nasty car to me and comes back asking where I took their car, and who the one in the shop belongs to :D

GREAT work!

Big cleanup on the Sonoma. I'm used to seeing high dollar luxury from you...how does it feel to do a wreck ;)?

:nixweiss Reminded me of the old days when I was starting out and couldn't afford to be picky. I tell you one thing, it was a huge difference from the 745 he normally drives to work!

As much improvement as I was able to get, it was still frustrating to not be able to do about the etched hood and roof (the roof was worse than the hood). I guess two years sitting under live oaks in east Texas isn't too good for paint.

At least today was easy, washed a new 350Z convertible, new Acura TL and a one year old and well maintained Pilot. :xyxthumbs

Can't wait to see pics of the 350Z Roadster...:up

BEAUTIFUL Scott!! You brought that Sonoma back from the dead for sure!! :xyxthumbs

I never hear you say that you use a rotary. Do you think that could have helped out in this situation?

Actually, did you use a PC or Cyclo on the Sonoma?

Jason-I used my PC. Nothing short of a repaint would take care of the etchings. You could definitely feel them with your fingernail.

One thing for sure, a burgandy Meguiars pad and that new Clearkote compound make a pretty aggressive combo. It did a terrific job on the scuffs, scratches and general hazing in the paint. Finished off well enough that #80 and a lite cut Propel pad made the paint look about as good as it was going to get.

Probably going to get a Cyclo by summer, maybe a rotary later on. I just don't get too many vehicles in such bad condition that a PC or Cyclo can't handle.

it looks good but you guys have YET to see the hood on the beast im driving now i was gonna clean it today but texas had to pass their rain on over to us :angry and im getting pushed back a day UGHHHH lol anyways very nice transformation

i was thinking the exact same thing.... wouldn't a rotary speed up your process??

Sure. I just work on so many high end cars I'd prefer to move up to a Cyclo first. Besides, I normally don't do to many cars that need serious paint correction.

Scott, I have most of the glare products as I am running evaluation. I can share samples with you. Let me know. You tried only the LSP. I have the rubbing compound (knock-out) and the glaze (spider). Perry Stevens said we would send me also the microfinish (polish).

I didn't see this thread :o
