What is SSR2.15? It is what you get when you have 2 black vehicles with light to moderate swirls and scratches but only enough SSR2.5 to do one of them and your DACP pad isn't looking too good. Take what is left of the 2.5 and mix it into a 1/3rd full bottle of SSR2, shake like mad and use. :) Necessity is the mother of invention!

As you can see, combined with a Meguiars polishing pad, it worked well on these light scratches, courtesy of the local tunnel car wash. I used a Meguiars polishing pad. You can see the light scratches on the right hand side of the picture. Yes, I did clean the residue out of the star.

Finished the ML off with Meguiar's NXT Paste Wax and a blue Propel pad. I really, really like the paste version. Looks deeper and wetter and sets up for removal much more quickly than the liquid version.

1998 BMW 740Li. I used the same SSR2.15 creation, again with a Meguiars polishing pad and finished with Long Haul's Polish/Wax using a white polishing pad (not sure of the brand, got it from another Autopian a while back). I wanted to use LH on a vehicle I see regularly so I can see how it holds up. Looks pretty good, especially for a relatively unknown retail level product.

==============

I thought I'd toss in this pic of Collinite 870 beading at the 3 week point. :)

2004 Mercedes SL500. First time I've done one of the new ones. Pretty sweet car!

I used Poorboy's SSR2.5 with a Meguiars polishing pad on some trunk lid scratches, then Klasse AIO with a Meguiars polishing pad and finished with Poorboy's EX-P+ by hand.

Great work as always:xyxthumbs

I wonder what you would get if you

mixed 1 part SSR2.5 with 2-3 parts SSR1?

Would that be more like SSR2.5-1, or SSR1.25?:D

i guess it must've been kinda difficult to get that part of the scratch near the pinstripping huh? :)

nice jobs. and thanks for letting us know the difference between NXT paste and the liquid version. i was wondering about that. hmmmm, i might just want to pick it up....for my sister's car. ;)

sweet details, as usual! :bow

I usually use some SSR2 on half the pad then SSR2.5 on the other now since I'm running low on SSR2.5. I have to order some more, but this time I'm bumping up to SSR3 in some places.

Nice job Scott.

Great work Scott. :xyxthumbs

Is the headlight on the 740 busted ?

That SL is really sweet, I wouldn't mind having that vehicle in my garage

FANTASTIC work Scott!! :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs

I saw an SL55 (the AMG version of the SL500) in traffic the other day...black with those same chrome rims. It was swirled to pieces so as I passed the guy I honked my horn...gave him a thumbs and up and said out the window "You need to call me". ;) Those cars are just soooo sweet!!

The early MLs were especially bad. I've done a Cavalier with less orange peel. How sad is that? :p

What do you expect?! They're built in friggin' Alabama!!!:p

Seriously, ML's have never been up to par with the other MB's quality wise.

BTW, do you ever detail inexpensive cars? All the cars I see you post seem to north of fifty grand! I drool all over my keyboard everytime I see your posts!:D

I much prefer the paste version. I'll probably never use the liquid again.

teamvegas-I normally call them Cadavers but my ex-wife's mom is giving my son her Cavalier as a graduation gift so I have to be nice towards them now. It is a 1997 with only 60k on it so it should last my son all four years of college. He is bringing it down here for the summer so he and I will go nuts on it. It may be just a Cavalier but no reason it can't have incredible looking paint, right? ;)

Yes, Collinite looks great at 3 weeks! Amazing beading!

kartoon-it has been busted for months. I have no idea why he hasn't had it fixed. I know he is going through a divorce so I guess he has other things on his mind. :nixweiss

Robert, Rob & Lee-gracias!

Mike-I agree, those new SLs are beautiful! Great lines and I like the interior a lot more. I was going to take some interior shots but the light was getting low and to be quite honest, I just wanted to go home after working all day.

termigator-I posted pics of that nasty Cavalier I did last fall. I washed a new F-150 today, does that count? The others today were an AMG S55, Escalade ESV and Cayenne Turbo. ;)

I'm not really sure how I ended up doing so many high end vehicles regularly. I guess rich people talk because I do get a lot of referrals.

i just would like to say great work on all the cars and your post counter makes me sick LOL!! that might be the worst orange peel ive ever seen, im sure you have seen worse, but i havent.

nice work once again, the orange peel on Mbenz is bad lately. I just worked on an 04 E320 and that thing had really bad peel and it has never seen a body shop. On a plus note I did notice less swirling on the black paint due to their new paint and that made me jealous being that I am an Audi owner.

topnotch-I noticed the same thing on a customer's '04 S500, extremely minimal spider swirling and the orange peel isn't as bad as the S600 in the other thread I posted a week or so ago.

Too bad he had a fender and the front bumper repaired at the dealer and they left rotary swirls all over it.
