A couple quick ones of my car.



Full on sun shot with #80 with a green Propel Pad, AIO with a blue Propel pad, and Shokar sealant by hand.

I just thought this was a cool picture. 2005 Ford F-250, just QEW washed, EX w/carnauba applied about 8-10 weeks earlier.

My neighbor's 1999 Buick Regal. I really should have taken some before pics as it probably hadn't been washed in at least 2-3 months. I can't even remember the last time I saw it clean. It also had light rotary swirls from Car Max prep about 18 months ago when she bought the car. It also had lots of spider swirls and light scratches. She asked me to detail it while she was out of town for two weeks.



I started with a QEW wash and clay. The clay bar was nearly black by the time I finished. I then went over all horizontal surfaces with DACP and a yellow (meduim cut) Propel Pad, then over the whole car with #80 and a green (light cut) Propel Pad. At that point, it was nearly dark. It rained mud the next afternoon...very windy the day before and that day, then it rained and washed all the dust onto the car. She wasn't going to be back for another 9 days, so I figured I'd finish it just before she returned.



I wasn't able to get to it until the afternoon she was getting back. I washed it with QEW and #80 was still beading nicely and after washing it, the paint still looked freshly polished. I then used a Meguiars Polishing pad with Vanilla Moose, and finished with Glanz Wax by hand. Just as I was finishing polishing her glass with AIO, she and her son pulled up. Perfect timing!

I detailed this 2003 Lexus LS430 in early December. Paint was in excellent shape from previous Wolfgang twin treatment so I simply applied 1Z Glanz Wax. This is how it looked this past Friday (January 21st), so it has been 6 weeks since waxed. I had posted some pics at the 4 week mark but that was the roll that was messed up so the full car shots weren't very good. This one is much better. ;)

2004 BMW 745Li. This car was in excellent shape, just some very light tar on the lower body panels and it needed some claying on the top of the rear bumper. No electrical access so I just did AIO by hand and followed with the Shokar sealant.

That buick looks amazing, too bad its a senior citizen ride! Impressive full sun shots of the black mazda. I own a black truck, and can apreciate perfect prep on black.

Beautiful work there. Scott, you seem to polish out your car VERY often. Do you feel safe to continue to do so at the rate you do?

Offtopic question: Do you ever get any slack when you do work at office parks? I see in your pictures you are at offices alot.

All look great, but I'm sure the Buick was the biggest transformation.



Do you like AIO or the Shokar cleaner better before the Shokar sealant? How do you like the Pink Wax?

My paint was absolutely horrible when I got the car. Scuffs, spider swirls, paint transfers, etc. My brother took good care of it mechanically but completely neglected the paint. When he sold it to my Dad, I cleaned it up for my Dad and it looked a lot better but there was a lot of deeper stuff I've been working on. The PC does a pretty good job but it doesn't remove paint anywhere near the rate of a rotary. I figure a couple more polishing sessions over the next few months and the paint will finally be as good as it is going to get and then I will just maintain it.



This is a shot of my car when my Dad still owned it and I polished it out for the first time. The rear fender is polished, the door isn't. The whole car looked like that door in the sun.

pugoman-yes we have the 760s here, I've just never detailed one. I have detailed a couple 750s though.



Sean-the Shokar cleaner leaves the paint a bit slicker than AIO does, but appearance is very similar.



I like the Pink Wax so far, very easy to use. I have a review in the product discussion forum.



AJ-what do you mean by slack? If you mean hassled by security or property managers, very rarely. There is only one office complex over in north Dallas that doesn't allow detailing on their property that I know of. I always let new office customers know they should check with their propery managers to see if detailing is allowed on site.
 
Scott: FYI that is a Buick CENTURY, not a Regal ;)



My family has several of both in it, I've gotten tired of them not even knowing what kind of car they're driving aside from "buick" :o

My mom has one of those century's when it snows here and my BMW is too low to drive I borrow it. I would sooner kill myself than drive it every day but in a straight line that car is really quick. Just dont even think of turning though. For a FWD car the torque steer isnt so bad considering how quick it is.

They pretty much are the same car, except for the grille, wheels, chrome strip around the taillight, and the engine/suspension choices. GM got 2 cars for the price of 1!:xyxthumbs

Whoa now. Are the Regal's LS's? If its a GS, there is a big difference in the cars.



I know our GS is a little out of the ordinary when you pop the hood :cool:



BTW looks GREAT Scott.
 
Most impressive !!! But would I expect anything less from you !!!



P.S. Your photography skills almost rivals your skills as a detailer. Your photos always look like they should be in Autoweek or Road and Track !!!
