Latest details v Escalade from Hades...and an Audi TT!

I figured I'd pimp out the rest of the Rolls pics since I only had one on the last roll. I got good sun on the paint so I know Jngrbrdman will be happy! ;) :p

Again, SSR2.5 with a polishing pad on a few sections, then CKs Red Machine Glaze with a polishing pad and by request (as in "use the same
censored.gif
you used last time"), Meguiars #16. :lol

2002 Audi TT. Beautiful car! The red paint has some yellow metallic but by the time I had polished it out, the sun was getting pretty low. Now I truly understand what Accumulator means about hard Audi paint! The car was in decent shape but had overspray on the hood and spider swirls everywhere.

I decided to put Optimum Polish to the test. I used with a Meguiars burgandy cutting pad, which tends to leave marring on most paints. Not on Audi paint. Even with the sun shining directly on the paint, I couldn't detect any marring at all using the burgandy pad and Optimum Polish...and this was after several slow passes (as in an couple inches per second) with the speed on 6! I had started off first with the yellow Propel light cut pad, but it wasn't aggressive enough but the burgandy Meguiars pad really did a good job on the spider swirls. I then switched to a Meguiars polishing pad and stayed with Optimum and it works as good as Anthony said. I'd kind of forgotten about my sample he's sent me, now I'm kind of sorry I did. It is more aggressive than #80 but finishes off at least as good. Maybe not quite as deep but pretty close the the reflections are very sharp.

One thing about the polishing pad. I didn't have any new ones, so I used the one I apply NXT with. I figured it shouldn't really affect any further cutting with Optimum since I was switching to a less aggressive pad. Funny thing was, after each section I polished, NXT that was deep in the pad (try washing it out of a pad!) was rising to the surface, so I it was like I was doing final polishing with Optimum and laying down some NXT at the same time because the surface was slicker and slightly darker (looking from panel to panel) than it was with just Optimum. An unexpected happy occurance, I guess. I really need to get more pads!

Anyway, it was getting dark, so I shot the pics before I applied #16.

Now the Escalade. The owner's wife (they live seperately, don't ask, I don't know the details ;) ) had her F-350 stolen then recovered, so he let her use the Escalade as a ranch truck while the F-350 was being put back together (a 2 month process!).

Here are some before shots:

After washing with Long Haul's Truck Wash (28 oz for $3 at Pep Boys!) which really does a nice job on bugs.

Interior before and afters. I have to remember to brush all the carpeting in the same direction and again after setting spray bottles down (and leaving a ring imprint!). It didn't come out perfect but it was really bad. Her dog has been living in it for the last couple of months, the lady is a chain smoker so ashes were everywhere and lots of spills.

A couple of exterior after shots. The paint itself was in suprisingly good shape, just a couple minor paint transfers and some tar at the bottom of the rear fenders. Klasse AIO with a polishing pad, and Shokar Sealant by hand.

You sure do use #16 a lot. Your frequent pictures of cars with #16 make me wonder if my 2 cans are enough. :)

What did you use on the tires of those three vehicles?

Paul-I really like #16. Great look, durable and easy to use.

I used Armor All on all the tires, applied with an Eagle One Tire Swipe.

Lookin' good Scott. Sounds like business is picking up finally huh. Good god that last pic of the Phantom is impressive, really looks like the car is transparent and you are looking through the car.

I also have some RMG on the way and can't wait to give it a try. And that package I need to send you will go out tomorrow, sorry I have been lagging, very busy!

The business is there, it is the weather that won't cooperate. I have no idea how I will catch up.

Not a problem, I am running behind too. I have shipping boxes but I need more product containers. I have 3-4 packages I need to send out.

Very Nice, So Optmum has a true polish? Were can you get that, and do you think you going to replace #80?

Optimum is about as aggressive as DACP and SSR2.5 but it finishes down amazingly nice. Even on my own black hood with the lite cut Propel pad, the paint was completely mar free and looked ready for wax.

Your best bet is to check with Anthony Orosco on where to get it since he is the one who sent me the sample.

Will it replace #80? Not sure, maybe just use it in conjuction with it.

I think the Rolls and the Audi are some of your best pictures ever. I'm blown away!

With that, #16 will be the topper today for the teg :).

Scott,

First of all - WOW! The Rolls, the TT, and the Escalade - great jobs!

Maybe I didn't read all the way through, but why was the Caddy the Escalade from Hell?

Charles

Awesome work Scott. Your details never cease to amaze me. Everytime I have seen your pics this winter it just kills me not to be able out working on my cars. Its supposed to be 38 today so I think I will try and get out and do some QEW on my 350Z.

Based on your pics I went out and picked up some Armor All. It was only like $5.88 at Walmart for 32 oz. Going to see how it compares to EO.

I believe it just refers to the nasty stains on the interior (chain smoker... lots of stains). Maybe the bug accumulation had something to do with it too?

These are some of your best pictures yet Scott which is saying a lot.

I wonder what that Rolls would look like with Souveran. Certainly price would not be an issue and you seem to detail it often. I bet the finish would be awesomely wet with the Pinnacle. Still, it looks fantastic with #16.
