When you say to apply enough pressure to bog the motor down, does this mean stop the pad from spinning and then keep pressing till the motor sounds bogged, and then let up just a bit, but not let the pad rotate, or let the pad rotate?

Thanks!! Great photo's, i really love the chopper!

With enough pressure, you can notice that the pad is spinning slower, and the motor sounds like it is under strain.

So is the RMG a replacement for VM?

No, you'd use RMG to build on the gloss and shine of VM, while adding a bit more depth. RMG is abrasive free. It is also thicker than VM and contains no protective properties.

Scott you are the man.I relly liked the 500 very nice.I have been asked to do some bikes I would not know where to start.:bow

Start by searching the detailing, autopia university and professional detailer's forum. I've seen threads about bike detailing in all three.

One huge hint-S100's Total Cycle Cleaner will be your very best buddy.

Paul-PC. Probably going to break down and get a Cyclo by summer.

How do you remove really deep swirls? You just take a really long time to polish with the PC? I broke down and ordered a rotary not one hour ago.

I'm willing to lightly haze the paint with a Meguiar's burgandy pad. ;)

Most rotary swirls really aren't that deep anyway.

slightly off the topic, but did anyone catch Tuesday night's Bike-buildoff on the Discovery Channel? It was Matt Hotch vs. Rick Fairless, Strokers of Dallas custom choppers. Man, it was nice to seeing Rick getting the national recognition on TV, and it made me appreciate the chopper Scott detailed more and more.

I knew that show was going to be on and completely forgot about it. I'll have to catch it when they run it again. I got to agree, the workmanship and design talent that it takes to create those bikes is incredible.

One thing for sure...when my kids are here this summer it won't be any problem getting them to help me when the bike needs to be cleaned.
