Bus is last, be patient. ;)

First one up, 2002 Ford F-250. Regular customer but due to the winter rains, it had been about 6-7 months since I last waxed it. I used Meguiars #80 with a green Propel pad and #16 by hand.

2004 BMW 330. I did this one about a year ago and since that time, it had been wrecked (new front end) and had some minor scratches on the trunk lid from a dealer wash. I had to bump up to DACP and a yellow Propel pad (medium cutting, I think), then #80 for the whole car with a green Propel pad, AIO with a Meguiars polishing pad and Shokar sealant. Only one good shot, not very good light and he was already late meeting some people so no time to move the car around for better shots. :(

A few durability shots.

Glanz Wax at 9 weeks. I guess you can see why I took advantage of the GW sale Jesstzn let us know about. ;)

Shokar beading at 3 weeks:

I knew there had to be a #80 and #16 application in one of the details! haha

What did you use on the tires?

2004 Porsche Cayenne Turbo. Polished with Poorboy's PwC and waxed with EX w/carnauba....on October 19th! Just a QEW wash and Quikshine this time. Still looks terrific and is beading decently. The paint is still smooth and somewhat slick but after QS, it felt freshly waxed again.

Remeber this shot of my car?

This is after around 20+ hours of polishing over the course of 14 months. Current combo is Shokar sealant x 2 and Pink Wax x 3. QEW washed and Quikshine right before the picture.

I tried to get as close as possible to the original pic but it wasn't as close as I thought.

Well done! I love to look at detailing this way, you are building to a result--particularly if you bought a used car. I hate to tell people that a true concours detailing would easily take 40 hours, but it is true. The good news is you can just do a few hours a week, and as long you aren't letting things slip the car will just get better and better over months.

I wish I could see this car in person. Do you get comments from people on it (who don't know you are a pro)?

44' Newell Motor Coach. Easily the most expensive vehicle I have ever detailed. I believe he paid just shy of $1.5 million for it. Just incredible inside....but his maid takes care of that. The outside is my job!

After I found out that Long-Haul's Polish/Wax is very similar to Race Glaze's Polish/Sealant, I figured I'd try it out, especially for $8 for a 28oz bottle (I guess it isn't selling as well as Pep Boys hoped so they are clearing it out). The owner of Long-Haul used to partner with Race Glaze, hence the similarities. However, the LH product is much darker, about the color of the graphite you'd use on the Pinebox derby cars and it has a slightly fruity scent, whereas the RG stuff is white with a light chemical scent. I was told the LH P/W has very light abrasives and chemical cleaners and I should expect 4-6 months durability. Not likely I will really know since the Motor Coach is stored in a warehouse and driven once or twice a month. Definitely not a routine that would stress any wax.

Anyway, I applied it with a Meguiars polishing pad. Easy on, easy off and a nice glossy shine. It removed/reduced some of the light scratches he had from trees up towards the top and seemed to fill slightly the scratches that were too deep to remove. They didn't disappear, but they were much less noticable. Overall, I have a pretty good impression of this product. :)

Not real good lighting and he didn't seem in the mood to pull the bus out just so I could get pics.

Notice his Rolls in the reflection!

A so-so before and after. Lighting just isn't that good but you do what you can. I think you can see a bit of an improvement in the second picture. In person, it was very noticable.

Armor All.

Lee-yes, I used Glanz Wax on the LS430. Really wicked glow on metallics. Holds up pretty good too. Still has decent slickness.

Rich-my Dad said if the car looked like it does now, he wouldn't have sold it to me for such a low price!

Charlie-occasionally. Usually I am asked "what wax did you use?". Good opportunity to educate people. :)

Scott: How may hours did you put into that coach?

Did you use Woolite on the interiors? :lol

Did you get to see the interiors? How did he have it fitted and furnished?

I really like your techniques.. You go to show that you do not need to spend 60 bucks on a wax to get the same result with less expensive substitutes.

I forgot you were a fan of AA still...but which AA are you using? There are so many now including the AA Tire Foams and such, please chime in as Im still looking for a nice shine on the tires (like the cars above) that is fairly cheap and readily accesible for when I run out.

1. About 8 hours. The front end was a pain in the

because of all the bugs stuck to it, even after one of his workers had washed it. I used Clearkote's Blue Moose with a Meguiars burgandy pad (very little hazing, btw) followed by Clearkote Compound with a Meguiars Polishing pad (both products will be out this spring, I'll do a full review once they come out) and then the Long Haul P/W.

2. His maid does the interior and the carpet cleaners who clean the carpets at his office take care of the carpets on the bus.

CutNAction-very true! Normally, the L-H P/W costs more but it is on a clearance sale. Seems to be a pretty decent one step. I like Race Glaze's Polish/Sealant as a one step and since this product is pretty similar, I like it too...and I like it even more at $8 for 28 ounces!

I just use the original shine version of AA. Much better product since they reformulated it.

Sorry Scott, I edited my post after you replied.... How did he have the coach fitted out and furnished. Some of those coaches are just unbelievable.

John-he is a strip club owner.

Here is an interior shot facing towards the front. This thing is really decked out. Plasma TV, leather, marble and brass. Full kitchen, washer, dryer, shower/bath, master bedroom and 4 slide-outs.

What kinda engine is moving that thing!!!!!!!!!!!

VERY NICE DETAIL! (Only uppercase could describe it) :p

Thanks!

Turbocharged diesel power! This is the engine in his previous bus, this one is similar.

Wow Scott must be a very profitable strip club, Imagine Strippers in it while you detail it:dance, or even better what if the strippers helped you wax? :bounce Stop that would take your mind off the detail can`t have that at work.

He owns 6 clubs currently along with a tattoo parlor. Honestly, in daylight, most of the girls really aren't that hot. When I first started detailing his cars, he didn't have the warehouse so I cleaned the cars at one of the clubs and I'd see the girls coming in for the dayshift.

Let's just say I understand what is meant by 'stripper lighting'. ;)
