e were excited to finally get our hands on this car after the long wait. This particular LaFerrari happens to be the Last US model built. The owner has one of the largest Ferrari collections in the US and we have worked on many others in the collection.
Before the car arrived at our shop we took a visit to see the car before hand to go over the details with the owner. We carefully examined the car and talked about the expectations and needs of the customer. We concluded that we would wrap 75% of the LaFerrari in PPF to prevent any damage that could accure while driving. Before we could even think about laying film on this beauty we would need to correct the paint and bring the finish upto the level it deserves. The entire car was covered in sanding scratches, swirls and holograms. We booked the car for 2 weeks to give us enough time to carefully perform our correction and PPF.
A few days later the car arrived and this has to be one of the most beautiful cars ive seen in person.
Having the car in the sunlight we could see more of the issues with the paint.
This covered over the entire car. We clearly had our work cut out for us. After our initial decontamination we began with our correction.
Correcting all aspects of the car before we apply any film is crucial to produce the best results. With some many intricate parts the attention to detail is what customers look for.
A cool touch is all the factory workers signed the car. This is something which is unique to all of the customers F cars.
On the engine cover bares the signiture of former Ferrari president Luca Cordero di Montezemolo. This car was built after Luca had left the company but was the last car he was part of. He signed the piece before the car had even gone into production.
We were starting to see the beauty come out the depth, clarity of the paint looked insane. After countless hours correcting and polishing the paint we washed the car again to remove and dust and contaminates before we started to apply the PPF. We opted for Xpel Ultimate for our film of choice. We were installing film on the Doors and Roof forward to protect against rock chips. We saw these as the most obvious areas which could take damage.
I didnt get too many picture of the film install but we went with a combination of pre-cut templates and custom pieces.
This was one of our biggest jobs to date and its up the with one of my favourite cars. The engineering, build quality and design of the vehicle is exceptional. The LaFerrari was designed completely in house. The owner of the car took a trip to the factory to sit down and design the car to his needs.
When we finished the project is was a cloudy day so we didnt capture any sun shots. We did take some awesome pics during the project though. Some of these pics are during the correction phase.
Thanks for viewing.
