Last coat of sealant Urgent

Hello I just finished up on my wifes 98 escort it is a white car any way we washed it, claybared it polished with SSR1 with PC and then put 2 coats of EX-P about 12HRS apart I want to know if I can put a senthetic wax like Blackfire on top of the EX-P will it bond to the EX-P if not I have Natty-s blue and Regular natty wax I can put on there, Weekend is almost gone so I need to know some thing.

I can't answer specific to the combination that you are asking about, I haven't tried it. Some sealants like to bond only to their own prep product, a clean surface or themselves. Others aren't too finicky and will work with just about anything. I know it's a lot of work but there's only one way to know for sure and you know what that is. I would probably try it. If the thought of all that time wasted scares you put the Natty's on it.

Well i put the Blackfire on with the PC and I think that it really works on top of the EX-P it sure was slicker to the touch in about a week I will put another coat on.

You may want to revise your thoughts of applying the sealant with a PC. You could be causing enough friction where you are actually removing previous sealants = waste of product and time. You could try it by hand but IMO layering sealants isn't worth it. Carnauba, on the other hand, is a different story.

I always apply my sealants or waxes by hand. I think it's some sort of Zen thing. :) I feel I get better coverage and thinner coats that way. I use the PC when using a one-step product or if I am in a hurry.

I use to like only hand jobs but now prefer machine jobs as they are quicker and more effecient. Applying sealants, that is. :cool:

OK, using a finishing or polishing pad, like LC grey or blue, keeping the pad moist with sealant and not applying much pressure should not remove previous coats of cured sealants. If it does, I wonder about the durability of the sealant you are applying over.

I applied my first coat of sealant (Poorboys EX-P) via PC, but then on the second coat, I decided to apply it by hand. I could not for the life of me get a thin, consistent coat, so I just whipped out the PC and used very light pressure and on speed 1. Hopefully the first coat is still on there. I tried damping the applicator and apply the EX-P but couldn't. I don't know if it was the EX-P because before I got the PC, I was able to apply Zaino by hand pretty well by hand.

Well I usually do put the last coats on by hand I just didnt know about a Synthetic Sealent on top of EX-P I can tell you I do believe it sticks to the EX-P very well because it was very Slick after I wiped it off But like I said time was running out And I Agree Jeff, I did use a LC Grey Pad Super soft to apply that last coat .
