Landcruiser+OID+OB=Happy Wifey!

Here's my wife's daily driver: 1997 Lancruiser



Today's Process:

1. Foamgun/OCWC

2. Blowdry

3. OID/MF wipedown

4. OB (3:1)/WCS for tires, well, and runningboards

1:1 was too thick, 2:1 looked great but didn't atomize as well as I wanted, 3:1 is perfect but comes out much faster and will run if you don't feather the trigger

Me too. This one's full-time 4wd, with frt and rear air lockers from the factory. She won't let me add 3" suspension and 33's

Gorgeous cruiser! I've got an LX450 (same body style) and the clearcoat on these vehicles is pretty soft and forgiving. You really cleaned that sucker up well. You'd be a hero if you wrote a writeup and posted it to ih8mud.com (landcruiser forum)





Again, amazing job. Good to see another 80 series cruiser being treated well. It should last you forever! By the way, here's a tip: 33" tires fit completely stock on Landcruisers. Next time you get new tires on it, put 33s on and she'll probably never know anyways It fills up the wheel wells much better and gives you more tire to shine

Thanks Gator, Mines SS paint and I don't know how much is there, so I baby it. I've only polished it once in the 8 years I've had it. I'm careful about washing it and keep protection on it. I'll check out ih8mud.com.



It's got 130k and all I've done besides oil changes is 2 batteries, 1 set of tires, and 2 $6 ea. starter contacts. I couldn't be happier with it! The wife would know if i put 33's cause I had 35's on my Tacoma and she hated the noise, :nixweiss

I'll stop hijacking your thread after this other than to say that paint looks really really good!



To give you a frame of reference, I have the 3" OME medium lift (I offroad) and 33" Revo tires. Stuffed a little like in this picture is roughly how'd they would look on your wife's car:



(note the running board level compared to the front hub is roughly equal, so this is how the tire would roughly look on that cruiser on flat ground)



You don't have to get loud tires either. I run Revo's and they are about the most well behaved tire I've had on this vehicle on the road. Their wet weather performance is absolutely superb, way better than michelin ltxs and others I've had before them. Noise levels are roughly equal to road tires (they are a good AT tire) and far far far from a mud terrain. Besides, it'll give your wife more ground clearance to get over those speedbumps at the mall (that's why we all have the triple lockers, right? lol)







Anyways, I damaged my paint badly (deep gouges) from tight trails and was able to completely restore the finish of the paint with SFX1 and a PC. I'd say you are in good shape if you don't offroad. The paint (also my color I guess) is extremely easy to work and takes to an OB very well. It is a joy to clean my truck up after a weekend out on the trails and see how well it shines and beads after a simple soapy wash. Your wife should be very pleased with what you've done, and if it is washed with a mild soap every month or so you shouldn't need to reapply sealant or wax for another 6 months or so!

I looked aroun on Ih8mud.com but couldn't find much on my model that I didn't already know. Thank's for your kind words. I can tell you love yours as much as I do mine. The lockers are useless with the Michellens but I still like having them just in case there's a snow. I'll never take it trailing, I'd get an old pickup or somthing light for that.



PS: I go to TTU here in Cookeville, TN. This shirt is just me being me, LOL!
