still wetsand, dust etc...
in my business , i look to simplify things not complicate them. for body shop it may be more profit cause they already have the set-up and the skills for paint.
I think the wetsanding and polishing is optional to increase the gloss...I agree with you this process costs a lot in terms of time and labor...cmiiw orion
