I've never owned the original LC pads so I can't comment and I haven't used the new CCS pads enough to really say how well they work, but so far I've been able to use the orange pad and I'm pleased with it so far. The ones from AutoGeek did not come in a plastic bag (except the green CCS which was packaged in a clear, Wolf Gang labeled bag). Also, they're all one color and made of the same type of foam, where as the ones I saw on properautocare had a blue foam for the back part, which I'm assuming is of different density?
First impressions: the light cutting orange pad is STIFF, compared to any of the other CCS pads I ordered, including the yellow cutting pad. Even Meguiar's burgundy cutting pad was never as stiff/hard feeling as the LC light cutting CCS orange pad. Both of the new orange CCS pads were washed in the washer and came out fine. I'm much more pleased with LC's velcro backing compared to the Meg's pads, especially how they cover the entire pad. Hopefully this will prevent the backing plate from cutting into the pad, which I'm currently experiencing with my Meg's pads.
The orange pad that saw more use is slightly indented (concave?) in the center. I don't think this will affect its performance once I use it, with the weight of the machine and the pressure I apply. It also has soften up a bit compared to the pad that barely saw any use (I used it to test a partial panel).
Autogeek was nice enough to send me 2 of their red CCS foam applicator pad when they sent the one green pad I had ordered way back after Xmas. I haven't used those, but for foam applicators they have a nice, high quality feel to them compared to the Meg's Gold Class. I couldn't comment though as to how well they work since I have yet to use them.
