Lake Country CCS pads from Autogeek?

Wow...that's stinks guys. I have never had a problem with them in the past, but I was going to put an order in and noticed everything was on back order. I think I am gonna start ordering everything from Danase anyway. I would rather give him business anyway.

I got my CCS pad replaced with the 5.5 " flat pads that AG has. # pads for the price of one CCS I called that fair. But yeah you will not be disappointed with Danase. I am going to get my CCS from him.

I'm not sure if yall are ordering different sizes, but I ordered my 6.5s from properautocare and they were to my door in 3 days. They had every color in stock

I got a shipping confirmation# from Autogeek today. I'm assuming that it's for the green CCS pad since that's the only thing that hasn't shipped yet.

So, now that these things have been out for a while, what is the general consensus? Better than the Original LC pads?

Btw, which place has better Velcro backing, CMA or Autogeek? I know they are different since I ordered LC pads from both places before.

I've never owned the original LC pads so I can't comment and I haven't used the new CCS pads enough to really say how well they work, but so far I've been able to use the orange pad and I'm pleased with it so far. The ones from AutoGeek did not come in a plastic bag (except the green CCS which was packaged in a clear, Wolf Gang labeled bag). Also, they're all one color and made of the same type of foam, where as the ones I saw on properautocare had a blue foam for the back part, which I'm assuming is of different density?

First impressions: the light cutting orange pad is STIFF, compared to any of the other CCS pads I ordered, including the yellow cutting pad. Even Meguiar's burgundy cutting pad was never as stiff/hard feeling as the LC light cutting CCS orange pad. Both of the new orange CCS pads were washed in the washer and came out fine. I'm much more pleased with LC's velcro backing compared to the Meg's pads, especially how they cover the entire pad. Hopefully this will prevent the backing plate from cutting into the pad, which I'm currently experiencing with my Meg's pads.

The orange pad that saw more use is slightly indented (concave?) in the center. I don't think this will affect its performance once I use it, with the weight of the machine and the pressure I apply. It also has soften up a bit compared to the pad that barely saw any use (I used it to test a partial panel).

Autogeek was nice enough to send me 2 of their red CCS foam applicator pad when they sent the one green pad I had ordered way back after Xmas. I haven't used those, but for foam applicators they have a nice, high quality feel to them compared to the Meg's Gold Class. I couldn't comment though as to how well they work since I have yet to use them.

the CMA CCS pads have a softer blue foam backing and a center hole cut out in the velcro for easy centering with a Megs backing plate

Does the velcro backing on the AG CCS pads cover the whole back of the pad? The problem I had with the LC pads from CMA was that the velcro backing didn't cover the whole back of the pad, so my backing plate would sometimes cut into the blue foam.

Can someone post a picture of the back of the AG CCS pads?

It covers the whole back of the pad.

Does anyone know about the CMA CCS pads? Did they change the velcro to cover the whole back as well?

Pretty much-there is about 1/8" lip where the foam is slightly recessed and there isn't any backing. They also have the center cut out for instant centering9if you have a Megs backing plate)

That's what I didn't want to hear. The old 6.5" LC CMA pads were made the same way and I had two LC pads fall apart because of it. If you put pressure on the edge of the pad, the backing plate tends to dig into the foam and rip it up along that 1/8" gap.

Looks like I will try out the AG LC pads this time around.

You could get them from AG as the backing is covering the whole pad. I am waiting to use mine as they are going to be killer. I would say it was more than worth the wait. I will say that AG handled a tough situation rather well. would like to thank them for coming through for me :hifive:

So I'm a bit puzzled on which pads should be purchased? CMA's CCS or AG's? Reading through some other topics, there are some people who feel CMA's are the way to go but then there's AG's which the entire back covered in velcro.

Thanks for helping clarify this out for me.

(I'm still thinking of moving to the Edge 2k system too...)

If you are using a rotary get the cma pads. The down side is that you can't wash it in the washing mashine. The blue foam would fall apart. For the pc (speed 6) get the other ones.

Great and a many thanks tdekany! (Was actually just typing up a PM to you on this topic) Have you tried the Edge 2k system also or would you stick with CCS pads?

I have edge pads but I never use them.:nixweiss

I like the lc pads from cma due to their soft layer.

I can't tell the difference between the ccs & and previous pads.:wall :wall :wall :hairpull
