KSG vs. wheel balance weight adhesive

I'm about to get some new wheels for my car. Before I get them mounted I was going to apply some KAIO and a few layers of KSG. Will the wheel balance weight still be able to stick to the wheel or will the KSG make the adhesive not as effective? Thanks.

When I had my new tires put on, I let them know that I had a sealant on the wheels (inside as well where the stick on weights go). They had some wicked stuff, it smelled like lighter fluid, that they wiped the inside of the wheel with. My weights haven't come off yet.

I did have to reapply the sealant when I got home since it was all but gone :hairpull

I think you will be OK, just tell them first, or save the time and trouble and seal them after the tires are one :idea

Most reputable tire mounting facilities will automatically clean the area where the weights will be mounted for maximal adhesion. New, detailed or used. :wavey

I clean the surfaces myself and have a talk with the guy who'll be attaching the weights. Note that some shops/manuals call for *sanding* the wheels to ensure adhesion  I read that in a GM FSM and resolved to be more involved in the balancing from them on.

Thanks for the tips everyone. I'll make sure they use some kind of cleaner and that no sanding equipment/material even comes close to my wheels.
