Klasse SG removal, and water.

Yeah, this kind of goes along with Bill's WOO method, but it's sort of a different question than what I had last posted.

The way that works best for me, it seems, is to apply KSG with a dry applicator - doing the whole car at once - and then use two MFs (one wet, one dry) to remove.

Now, given the apparent fact that KSG contains no water and some of the discussions held here on Autopia, are we sure (speculation or fact-based) that the use of water in removal some ten minutes after application does NOT affect the bonding process at all?

Sorry Polaris, can't really tell you. I fog the surface with my breath when removing SG, sorta the same idea, and it works fine. And plenty of other people use the wet/dry MF approach, so I'd guess you'll be fine.

Just wanted to give you some kind of feedback, and also sorta give myself an excuse to ask you how school's going. I notice you have time to work on the 'vette at present ;)

School's been fine, thanks for asking. Had kind of a rough semester in the Spring, but things are turning out just beautifully so far. Actually about to write a couple of papers in the next day or two - one of which will be a mid-term, and the other, a final, for a western lit class that I have (and actually like). Not a 4.0 after that mess of last semester, but a high 3 is good, too. :wavey

Yeah, the way my schedule came out - Tuesday/Thursday, 9:00-3:15, and still technically a full-time class setup - I have some opportunities to just relax and do things, including layering SG and whatnot. Klasse was the first high-end product I tried after finding Autopia many moons ago, so it was kind of a return to the stuff I started on.

Cool, glad to hear you're doing well, a high-3 is fine :xyxthumbs And yeah, lit courses can be very enlightening, especially if your profs are decent. Good that you can spend a little time on the C5; having a black 'vette and doing school full-time can't be easy. Good to hear from you :wavey

The damp dry method works well, no doubt about it. I've used it and like how it removes the SG. My problem was the oily film that developed on the SG a couple of days after. I traced it back to the wet towel. That's when I went with WOO. No oily film problems ever since. In the end, if the wet and dry towel is working for you, then keep using it. It just didn't for me, and some others I know of who had the same oily film problem.
