Klasse HGSG Application & Removal...

Here's a quick 'how-to' that has worked for me for years now...

The instructions given here are what has worked for me for the past 3-4 years and keeps working very well, making the application and removal of KHGSG a breeze and having the long lasting durability it provides.

As many have noticed, there are countless posts online discussing the proper use of Klasse HGSG and even more posts of people complaining, finding it too hard to apply/remove and giving up. However, application and removal of KSG is one of the easiest I’ve ever come across and with this short write-up I hope to help those who are having trouble with it, since it really is a great product that shouldn’t be overlooked because it’s a bit different and more complicated than others during removal.

The following photo shows the necessary supplies. (KSG, QD, ‘dry’ towel, ‘damp’ towel, applicator pad)

**More dry and damp microfiber towels will be needed to do the entire car. One damp towel is usually fine as it can be folded and 8 sides can be used, but more dry towels are definitely necessary**

The following steps show how to successfully apply and remove KSG.

1. Place a small amount of KSG on the applicator pad, either in 2 quarter-sized drops or 3-5 thin lines spread across the entire pad.

2. Spread the KSG on the pad by folding the pad over 2-3 times and squeezing lightly. This will allow for easier and more even application of the sealant.

3. Spread a very thin layer of KSG on the surface. Start with a “S” shaped swipe across the panel in order to spread the KSG more evenly and avoid buildup in one section. Follow with left-right or up-down motions to spread completely and cover the entire panel.

4. Wait at least 15-20 minutes for KSG to cure; the longer the better.

(missing photo of me sitting in front of the hood, elbows on knees, chin in my palms and talking to KSG "hurryyyyy" :p)

5. Take the ‘damp’ towel, hold it out and spray it down with the QD. The towel should be noticeably wetter than before. It doesn’t need to be dripping wet, but also shouldn’t have just a light mist of QD covering it.

6. Wipe the surface with the ‘damp’ towel. Do not wipe the entire panel down because QD will dry up and a second wipe with the ‘damp’ towel will be necessary. One third of the hood or one quarter of the roof is a recommended section size to wipe down with the ‘damp’ towel.

7. Using the ‘dry’ towel, wipe down the section just wiped with the ‘damp’ towel, preferably going in the other direction (if the ‘damp’ towel was used in a front to back of car direction, dry towel should follow side to side of car direction) but it’s not a deal breaker. Use light to no pressure when wiping down the paint.

8. Now enjoy the results! There should be no residue, streaking or haze left over, only very glossy, protected paint.

Does the Klasse SG require a cure time before one could add a second coat? Good post. Thanks

Yes it does. I believe Klasse suggest at least 12hours in between coats. The way I usually do it is apply the 1st coat on a Saturday, leave the car sitting in the garage 15-18hrs, then apply the 2nd one after some QD the next day. You can easily just apply the 2nd coat at the next wash, a week or so after the 1st coat.

Really nice guy.. :)

Thanks!

That is about as easy a solution as one can find for Klasse HGSG problems. I have always used KAIO but elected to not use HGSG due to all the online complaints. Now, it will be time to purchase it. Many thanks.

Glad it helped.
