Klasse hazing

Maybe it's my car color, maybe it's the warm Houston weather, but I just don't see any hazing from Klasse, just terrific results.

Update.

Put another layer of SG on yesterday. Applied medium-heavy (I could slightly see a haze once it dried). Let it sit for 2.5 hours. removed it with lots of elbow grease and 3 MF towels, dry.

let me say here I think folks are seeing 2 different problems. 1) is when SG is applied too heavily and is not completely removed. someone described it as "the look on the paint like when you breath on it and can wipe your finger through it". I had that problem the first time I ever used Klasse, but no more. It's a removal issue (as well as not using too much).

2) is more interesting - and annoying. Someone describe it as a layer of oil on the car, that a MF towel can move and creates 3-D imagery. That's the problem I'm fighting now on the Lexus.

No problem like this last year, I did AIO x2 and SG x4. The I topped with Souvereign.

This season, I did a dawn wash, and a single AIO and moved to the SG. Still have the problem, and buffing removes it - until the next wash or swipe of a towel. Using a QD (name one, I've tried everything in my cabinet) makes it even worse. Could perhaps the AIO have not remove all the wax?

If any of you out there with problem (2) also used a wax topper previously before going back to Klasse, please let me know.

In hope of salvation, I've applied AIO aggressively to the trunk deck, and I'm going to check it out later and see if perhaps the problem is that the SG isn't bonding properly (I think that's the cause).

If I hadn't had such great uck with these products previouosly, I'd be inclined to switch....actually, probably would have already.

It does take some effort, but feel free to add water to your buffing. It makes it a lot easier. You will find that even using your own breath will aid in removal (all it takes is a little moisture) to make something that feels like super glue to come off with ease.

Sorry I haven't answered your last e-mail. Yes you can spot AIO, just try to reappy SG in that area as well.

Happy Detailing,

Steve

AND USE MF! Any time you see streaking that matches the direction you last wiped, you're pushing stuff around with a towel. 9 times out of 10, a good MF wipe will make a HUGE difference.

Perhaps somebody can assit me with my predictament. I also use Klasse and to my dismay, this is what I get on my car...

I originally assumed that it was Klasse that was causing my problem, but when I dawned and washed my car...to my dismay it was still here. So now I assume it must be the swirls marks that are causing this 3d hazing look. Here is the step I use:

1. Wash car with TurtleWax (I know...shouldn't be using this)

2. Dry with waterblade and absorber

3. Apply a few layers of AIO (Used to use too much...)

4. Never used the SG...yet

5. Finished

Now me and my friend developed a new technique that seems to work on his car...but he doesn't have the problem I have, but we noticed the same hazing I have...just not as much as I have. Our new steps are:

1. Wash car with TurtleWax (Gotta use it up before I get something different)

2. Wash car again with Dawn

3. Claybar using Mother's

4. Wash car again and dry with waterblade and absorber

5. Coat the car in 3M SMR

6. Apply 2 coats of AIO

7. Apply first coat of SG and let sit for 30mins-1hr, buff it out

8. Apply second coat of SG and let sit for another 30min-1hr, buff it out

9. Apply third coat of SG and let sit for final 30mins and 1hr, buff it out

My friend didn't apply the 3M SMR yet because we still haven't received the cutting pad for the PC. I am curious...are you even supposed to use that much 3M on the car? So are the step above correct as to what we should be doing or do you guys have other suggestions? I bought some MF towels from properautocare and they work wonderful to a certain extent. I purchased this kit: http://www.properautocare.com/kitiffivmict.html. I find that the green towels work wonderful for buffing but as far as drying a wet car...they don't soak up much water, seems to just move water around. The yellow towel works well on glass...as long as you keep it dry and use it on the inside. The Magic Towels works wonders on dust on the dash, seats, and interior cabin. Maybe I am using the towels wrong? But I would appreciate any help I can get to fixing my problem! The way my car looks in the sunlight kills me! Black is such a nice color...but so darn hard to keep it looking nice! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Have a wonderful day!

My car has the 3d look as well. I think that it's either the way the SG dried b4 I buffed it off, or the abrasives in the aio made some swirls. I don't see how you would notice the swirls after you klassed the car and not b4. It must be the AIO you are using.

Well the swirls existed before the AIO...it's the hazing that didn't.
