Klasse hazing

In all the hazing cases, washing and QDing with fresh towels didn't help?

Washing and QDing almost seemed to make it worse...as if the KSG was soaking up water. The only person I know who actually had a bad case of it and successfully got rid of it was bigboyhf. I believe he used an MF bonnet on a PC and just went over the entire car with it.

Thats correct.....I was able to remove the haze by buffing it out with the PC and an MF bonnet. The problem was that it came back in a few days or after the next wash. I really liked the Klasse shine and for those who don't have the haze problem, Klasse is a great sealant. But if you are getting the haze, I think you are probably wasting your time trying to fight it. You would be better off going with another product.

In my expierence washing and QD'ing made it worse. I even tried buffing with a MF towel and it did nothing. Finally I used SMR for a couple passes and it reduced it, but didn't totally remove it.

One strange thing is I use Klasse on my Chrome wheels and have never had this problem, it only occurs on painted surfaces. :nixweiss

Add me to the list of klasse haze victims. It does indeed look like a thin oily film on the surface of the vehicle. And the klasse marrs in the direction of your last towel swipe. No amount of buffing or rubbing will remove the oily like film.

Oh well, I guess nothing is perfect.

I'm thinking that the Klasse did not cross link properly befor a new layer was applied, Klasse needs a long time to cure. When bigboyhf buffed the Klasse it helped speed up curing process of the Klasse.

I noticed it on Day 1 i tried it. Its just Klasse put too thickly I rekon...makes it look uneven and stands out more on certain angles and lights. My car is white btw, I still use Klasse and like it now I know how to use it right

Change my carwash. Up until now I've used Turtle wax Zip Wash,......... yeah, yeah, go ahead and pummel me, it's really good and slick but anyway. I'm going with a no oils and additive wash and see what happens.

The kind of hazing I got was as if you went and breathed on the hood. You would get the condensation from your breath and you could wipe through it with your finger. It look almost exactly like that.

The hazing would buff out easily with a MF towel.. but it would be back again in ten minutes or so. The funny thing is that at midafternoon when the sun went down it would not reappear if I buffed it out. It only happens mid day here in Florida when the hood was really hot. I have a black car.

I for one am totally baffled.

Sadly enough, I had tried Souveran and Blitz over the SG with continued hazing problems..... I have absolutely no answers for this, only that I saw it with my own eyes. If there were no other products available that are equal to (or better) than Klasse, I would give it another (s)whirl.... :o

You are all describing exactly what I saw when I posted a couple weeks ago. I was able to remove the hazing with a lambswool buffing pad with no product on it. Subsequent (careful!) applications of Sg have had mixed results...once, no have. Another time, haze. I have a theory, though...

I think that something is keeping the SG from drying properly on the finish, so when it's removed there is a miniscule amount of the product left. Not enough to "dry", and since it's not water-soluble a wash doesn't remove it.

I think the culprit is either *too* thin a layer, not long enough dry time, or humidity/temperature. Or perhaps a combination.

The one time I didn't get a haze I used more SG than I normally would have, and I let it dry on the car for quite a while (couple hours).

Removal technique makes little difference, except that the wool buffing pad got it all off. I tried damp (water), damp (QD), and dry MF and all cotton towels...

Anyway, I think I will apply the SG a little more thickly (it's easier to remove after it's set up a while) and see what happens...

I was thinking the same thing....:nixweiss

I don't think so, using the same bottle I did last year. And I don't think it spoiled, since others with new bottles are seeing the same thing. I think it's humidity, the layer *too* thin (keeps product from "setting"), or drying time...or combination of all three.

I also forgot to say I changed the car wash, etc...even used Dawn, and the 3-d effect was there!

Something I remember from a very old thread....

when a polymer is curing..(after buffing excess) it is important that it not get wet for 24hours....Any water that is present while curing effects the curing process and the product does not cure properly.....

that is what I remember...

SO those with hazing did your Klasse get wet prior to full cure? Ie QD, dew, water, anything with water???

Ok I have to chime in here. I did get the infamous klasse haze on our black mercedes-benz ML320. However, the haze was ONLY located on one spot of the hood. This was an area where I had wiped with a cold damp MF towel. (It was during the winter and about 40 degrees out). The motor was running at the time and I thought I had ruined the clear coat. I got a dry MF, you could push as hard as you wanted, It just smear this oil or water that seemed like it was trapped under the klasse. It would not come off. I sprayed Sonus QD, that just made matters worse! Then I whipped out the trusty EO wipe and shine, and after rubbing and rubbing the haze came almost all the way off. The car then got really dirty the next day and after washing it in a warm environment the following weekend(inside), there was no sign of haze. The klasse haze problem has not come back on either of our cars and I am using the same bottle SG. However, i now use a DRY MF applicator to apply and wipe off with a QD to aid in removal. I think this is the best technique for klasse, and I have not got any hazing applying it like this.:xyxthumbs

Who doesn't have the KLASSE haze! I have not noticed the haze on my dads car, but I will be on the lookout when I add more coats of SG this weekend.

I got hazing once.

I went to a parking lot around 2 am and put on a really thick layer of Klasse Glaze and when it came time to remove (30 minutes) I got all kinds of hazing.

Aside from that I never ever had a problem with Klasse and I have put the Klasse Glaze on numerous cars, never once did I have a problem.

I am pretty sure it was because of the thick layer. Too bad you guys are having problems, really ruins the rep of Klasse. Oh well, there's always Zaino for you guys.

Send me your Klasse!!! Nothing better than having a 5 gallon bucket of the stuff.

Man, one time I put some SG on my buddies brandy new black Monte Carlo, the stuff hazed SOOOO bad and WOULDN'T come off! I think we ended up Power Cleaning(Wizards Product) it and started over...with AIO.

Hey Dale, long time no see. After that whole mess, you decide to start over and try again? That's conviction right there.

I let my Sealent glaze sit on my paint for over 15 hours. The president of cma said that you can let klasse bond to the paint for almost 24 hours. Havent had the problem yet
