Klasse AIO and P21S

I'm going to be detailing my car this weekend, and have a quick question that I haven't been able to find an answer to through the search.

I was thinking of putting a coat or 2 of AIO topped with P21S instead of using the SG and then the P21S. I figured that the AIO coats would give me some extra protection while the weather starts to turn. I'd like to minimize my steps and time since I don't always have access to a space for detailing.

If I do this, do I have to let the AIO cure before the top coat of carnuba? I know I have to if I'm topping SG with a carnuba.

Thanks in advance.

No need for 2 coats of AIO. It's a cleaner/polish/acrylic. One layer strips all underneath it off. 2 coats would be a waste of time(and energy!);)

I'd go AIOx1, followed up by weekly layers of p21s. You have to let the carnauba cure for a week, but not the AIO. This will give you plenty of protection for winter(depending on the harshness:p ).

Or just drop the P21s, and put 5xSG on top of AIO. That would last for at least a year...:D

Interesting. I didn't think even Zaino was good for a year.

Side note: I usually do two applications of any product, Mostly to be sure I get all the places I may have missed with the first application.

Unless you applied those 5 or 6 layers of SG on the car every other month then its not going to last you for a year. You wouldn't want to anyway. Anyone who is going to go through the effort of applying 5 coats of Klasse to their car isn't going to be able to keep their hands off of it for a full year anyway. I totally agree with drew on the weekly coats of P21S though. That would look great. You should only need one coat of AIO unless the car is in really bad shape. :xyxthumbs

I read somewhere that AIO is good for about 4 months and for each layer of sg add at least 6 weeks. On my Lincoln I had 2XAIO and 3X SG after clay of course and I believe it lasted 9 months ( last year). This is in Houston and we do not face the bad winters that some have. The polymer seems to hold up well in the heat.

just my 2 cents

BTW :regular wash with MGC and QD with CP.

I couldn't find it now, but CMA (www.properautocare.com) has indicated that they have had much better luck if they put a Carnauba on top of Klasse AIO directly. Synthetics don't need much cure time after application, but Carnaubas harden and will layer much better with at least a few days between. I generally consider 7 days be be minimal, and normally do a 3-4 week interval, but you won't have that much time given the time of the year and that you are in a cold area.
