Klasse AIO after 3 weeks

So, three weeks ago today, I compounded my car with Megs UC. Then decided to use Klasse AIO ONLY on it and see how it performed. It's rained a few times since then, and I washed it this morning. Pre-soak with PB Super Slick & Suds. Then 2BM with the same Poorboys wash.

Of course, it rained this afternoon. HARD! LOL! So I decided to take some pics of how the product is holding up. I did not do the Klasse Twins, since I ran out of time, but this was good for an experiement. Here are some pics:

I'm no expert on beading and don't put a lot of stock in it since various shampoos can make quite a difference in beading, but.....
To me it looks like the KAIO is not beading all that well.
I really liked KAIO as a cleaner prep, but was very disappointed in the durability. I used it as a stand alone on the mirrors of a Pontiac van as a test and the look was pretty well gone after 2 or 3 weeks.
Prior to that, I had always used a topper over the KAIO and had never realized how short of a time it seemed to last.

FWIW, it is no longer my AIO of choice. If someone wants to PM me, I might be able to find a full or almost full 16.9 oz. bottle that probably should be sold or traded.
 
I felt the beading was better with the Poli-Seal I used previously. Next weekend, I will strip the hood, and do a test with Poli-Seal, the Klasse Twins, and Liquid Glass (got some for $5 so I want to try it out).

That's gorgeous Dave. I think there might be some differences. I am sure that the paint there was prepared better. I just did a quickie once over with the Megs UC on mine before applying KAIO. Also, I am wondering about the beating my car takes in the Florida sun daily. Although I park it in a garage for work, it's outside the rest of the time.

Anyway, I'll keep trying different things and seeing what I get out of it.

I'm curious as to what has replaced KAIO as your favorite AIO product. If you wish to PM that's good too.

What I do like about KAIO is that you can do a decent amount of paint cleaning by hand w/o breaking your back. And of course it "plays" well with other products when topped.

That said, I've been playing around with a "concoction" which includes PB's Pro Polish as a component that I have been using as a base layer. But applied by machine, not by hand.

By PC, Optimum Poli-Seal.
By hand, Duragloss #501 Marine/RV Polish.
Poorboy's PwS is right in there as well.

All of them do a good job of cleaning, some polishing, and seem to keave a lot more durable finish than the KAIO.
The AIO product is not my LSP, but I felt using an AIO that left some durable protection was a good thing.

First off, my answer would be yes, but...... Since I have only used it on my own vehicles, it hasn't really faced a true test.
Based on what I have experienced, I do think it does/would do a good job on a vehicle that was not in the best of shape to start with.
 
I've been pleased with Poli-Seal myself. I've got two cars coming up soon where I am going to use it again. Probably going to be my go-to AIO product for daily drivers.

I am trying to settle on a couple of lines to stock and so far Poorboys and Optimum are way out front.

LOL, Thanks Troy. I just uploaded the pics from my phone to photobucket. No resizing or anything took place.

What's the proper size to use so I don't make them too large in the future?
 
I agree you could tell how well or get an indication of a products performance by the appearance of beading, But in previous posted pics, It seams the rain may have been falling differently. This could give you a false reading, of how much protection is on the surface. And I notice that washing will also have an affect. When there is some debris or dirt on the surface, the beading will be less, after washing they will appear to look better because the dirt was removed.

I really don't know how to check to see how long something will last. I have just been washing and feeling the surface of the paint with my hand. I notice that most protection failure is first noticed on the Hood and horizontal surfaces.

However, (IMO) I have come to the conclusion that most products don't last as long as they say.
 
You guys are right about beading perhaps not being the greatest indicator of longevity, but customers will always equate beading with a protected finish. No matter how many times I tell people I do cars for, they still expect the thing to bead for months and months.

I agree , I do not think that is good beading at all.
