keyed car

As long as you have comprehensive insurance then your insurer should cover it. My car was keyed this year and thank goodness my dad got a low deductable or else I wouldn't have been able to get it repainted. Also, a lesson I learned from that is choose your bodyshop carefully. The one I took my car to created a ton of orange peel and there are air bubbles where they blended on the door and I'm considering going back and complain.

When I had a red 3000GT, some moron keyed a whole line of us parked along the road. Insurance covered it minus the deductible but the bodyshop worked with me on the deductible.

I would check with Scottwax in DFW for a reputable shop, he probably has some good contacts.

my friend has an SS that got keyed like 3 times in 5yrs.

the ins will pay to fix it, minus the deductable. if you ever find the fool, you can sue him for the full repair cost

What makes people want to do these things? I just don't get it. A few weeks ago I had parked my car at the end of my driveway, and the stupid paper ***** threw the paper right at my car... I know this isn't nearly as severe as what happened to your car, but still, some people suck at life.

The wonderful part of that one is you can get him fired for that, I know around here it doesn't take all that much to get a paperboy fired.

Dan.

nope. someone took a crap in a diaper and stuck it in my office at work. might get someone fired too. i asked a girl out this week, too, she said yes, and then she said no today. i'd say that according to my week, there is a good chance i may vanish into thin air tonight.

Your paint would probably be hard to touch up. I had pretty good results with the following procdure.

1. Touch up the spot.

2. Clay anything that ran over. This will take a long time but it works.

3. Polish the spot.

I would repeat this as many times as you feel comfortable. The polishing part might not be good to do too many times, but the touch up clay should be no problem.

Hope this helps.

You have not done your 'due diligence' until you checkout This system

Patience is your friend. Altho, remember that 'lining up' the metallic field is toally impossible.

You'll be pleasantl surprised.

clay anything that came over? what do you mean?

I think he means to clay any paint that runs over the edge of the scratch. If you put too much paint on the scratch, it will fill it up (and then some), and gravity will spread it out over the surrounding area around the scratch.

that langka thing might work, enyone try it before? sounds logical the procedure, enyways, even a child could do it :o , lol :chuckle: , i have a friend whos been keyed about 3 times at college here , and trust me, i think im like the only one who is actually register in this page in the contry, lol, why do i say that? because nobody here tkaes care of their cars, and i mean no one.

He got it righ.

Metallic paints a a pain in the *** to line up as well. It is not going to be perfect, but it might be just enough to distract.

Jees, I don't think the word perfect can even be used on this forum, because people are so crazy they are never satisfied. :2thumbs:
