Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse..

My mom told me this morning "your windows are so clean, I can't even see them!". You can immagine how that turned out. Someone smashed my windows out on my TSi and stole my $400 stereo, some cologne, and change. Luckily I think they left everything under the hood alone, but I haven't checked... going out right now to look. The glass really messed up the interior. This is after my whole ticket and school mess, so depressed :(

Been there, done that.

VERY sorry to hear. Good Luck on the road to recovery, unfortunatly, it's a long one.

Joe, Very sorry to hear about your window and the theft. I hope you did call the police, although from personal experience I know they won't have much luck. This sucks majorly but I hope that is the end of your bad luck streak. Take care and we're all with you on this.

Haha you guys act like it's a death or something... I guess to an autopian it is, though. What's worse is from pushing the car into the garage (since it broke down and won't start), I now have cracks in the paint on my front bumper. That almost makes me more mad than the window, stereo, or ticket.

Yikes, you're certainly having a run of bad luck! Hope the police report goes smoother than your other recent interactions with law enforcement.

Thanks guys. The police report went fine, the cop just went "you know you have expired tags?" but I don't think he was going to ticket me. I told him I had an extension from the DMV and he didn't mention it anymore.

I did have the serial number for the stereo, so if they recover it I'll get it back... but there's like a .1% chance of that

phewwww, all done. Took a long time to get every little piece of glass off of everything, but that is done... the window was replaced (found one at a junkyard) and the carpet was shampooed b/c I found a stains under the seat when I removed it to get the glass out from under there. This one will make for some great before and after pictures for the website.

On the bright side, it gave you an excuse to clean out the interior. Not that a true Autopian needs an excuse, but good luck going forward!

Damn. I hate thieves. Do you guys leave your cars outside? Can't you put it in a garage where no one can touch 'em?

Sorry to hear it. Did you have insurance? Keep your chin up in any case, you will get through it eventually.

There are a lot of lowlifes out there that can't do anything more constructive than to mess with other people's property.

Ugh. I unfortunately know exactly how you feel. Several years ago, I walked out to my Accord and found the rear driver's side window on the ground and a hole in my dash. Luckily, Nikolas Lampkin of Fort Worth, the worthless pile of human debris who broke into my car was caught breaking into another car and arrested. I got my stereo back and partial restitution until he ended up back in jail...hopefully on the receiving end of a jail house romance.

I hope your situation similarly resolves itself. You deserve something to go right after the way your week has been.

That happened to my friend melissa about 2 months ago. She has a 2 door 2004 ford mustang *bright orange*. They smashed in her driver side window and stole her wallet, jacket and some other personal stuff. It sux to be a victim of a crime, but heres the kicker. I asked around about people breaking into cars around the area where she was victimized *yeah, i know some shady *** people*. I found out who it was...2 guys...should i tell the police?...hahaha. No!. Vigilante justice rules. Paybacks a ***** :)

Murderousmind- Not to get into the various considerations regarding vigilantism, if I were you I'd edit that post of yours before it comes back to bite you. If something went horribly off the rails it could indicate premeditation ;)

And yeah, I've had cool vehicles, including a '70 Chrysler 300 Hurst edition, ruined by [despicable individuals] who were after stuff like stereos, so it's not like I don't know where you guys are coming from.
