Got home from work today really late (10pm!!!) and couldnt wait to use my new pc. I got the 7424, went to mothers house and went into the garage. Her camry was in there, washed the hood and applied some was with the pc. First thing i noticed was at speeds 4 and 5 the pc is was scary at first. Its fast!!! I started out at speed 3 to get used to it, then went up to 4 and then to 5. I noticed that after using it for about 3 minutes, my left hand (The hand that was on the side bar that screws into the pc) felt really weird from the viabrations. I may wear a glove when i detail, do any of you experience this?
Quick question, i used the polishing pad that came with the pc just to test out the pc and to finally use it, this pad is safe right? Also, if using an edge blue or white pad, waxes can be applied to a car via pc often, correct? As long as the pad is a "safe" pad like the white or blue, you can use the pc as often as you want b/c it wont take off any clear coat, correct?

Overall i love the pc, cant wait to use to again!

Several people, myself included, have used this pad with no ill effects. I wouldn't use it wit SSR2.5 or anything, but it works great with a light polish.

A PC can "remove" some clearcoat. Remember that you are "rubbing" the clearcoat at high speeds. That will remove it, even if it is ever so slight. If you did it everyday for X-amount of time with an abrasive polish, you would probably notice. :)

Congrats on your purchase!!

Just to address the strange feeling in your hand.
1. Don't grip the handle so tight.
2. If it is too much of a problem, you might try removing the handle and just holding the head of the machine.

I will try both of those suggestions, thanks! I may just wear a simple little glove, no biggie. :jump

When I first got mine, I had the same vibration problems making my hand numb (although the PC worked just fine.)

Fixed this by purchasing an inexpensive counterweight:

Now it's very easy to finely control the PC. I find not using the handle gives me better range of motion and control. I just have one hand one the main body of the PC and the other hand on the head to control the contact angle of the pad on the surface.
