Hi guys, my name is Alex I'm from the poconos area in PA. I have an 07 BMW 525xi silver/gray. The car is new to me, and I want to keep it looking good, but don't have the first clue on where to start. I have never clay bar'd a car, never used a buffer, and I'm hoping this forum can point me in the right direction on what to do to keep my car looking the best.

Alex, welcome aboard!

What is our allowance to get you set up? How have you cared for your cars in the past? What tools/chems do you have now? How much time will you spend every week caring for the new car?

Previously I had the P21s kit with the 100% carnauba wax in it but that got lost in a recent move. I have hand washed and waxed my cars in the past. As far as $ to spend to get setup as of now probably about $100-$150 for now. I plan on taking my days off Friday and Sunday to work on my car with my schedule those are the only days I'd have daylight and time. I am planning on having it detailed by a friend once and then keeping up with it.

Welcome! I agree with these guys, you will be amazed at how good you can make your car look. Read up and ask questions!

Thanks for the replies guys, I am looking forward to learning alot on here. I have to find a donor car or body panel to practice on. I don't want to screw up my car learning what I am doing when I decide to get into using a buffer/polisher.
