i'm new to car detailing, been reading up on this site and doing research. i hope to get my paint as good looking as some of yalls.



just ordered my Porter Cable 7424.

And just so you know, the Rules require that all new guys must submit detailed pictures with a narrative explaining the process used to this site within two business days of completion of said detail. In other words.....

i tried out the new 7424 this weekend. i practiced on my 8yr old car, just on the trunk. its got heavy oxidation.



clay, #83, then #82. wow. its like a mirror. i missed a few spots, but in general i'm very impressed. this weekend i'll do the entire car, and apply a sealant or wax.



BTW, no one ever mentions how much this thing slings crap around.

If you've got splatter, you're using too much product. It is hard to get used to how little you need to use.
