Just *one* more Porter Cable result pic!

:up .....................love the flaps too....they look a little oversized...but i like that....i dont have a Bimmer but it looks great.....what ...if any...was the biggest difficulty you had using the PC.....

Biggest difficulty was remembering to keep the pad "in contact" with the surface when shutting it off...splatters of machine polish everywhere if I forgot. :D Still waxed it by hand...only used the PC for polish.(Tough to use Carnauba wax,non-liquid,on a PC)

Regarding the mudflaps, I had such a problem with the crushed-leaves-rain water mixture of Fall weather with splattering on the doors, and rear bumpers that I chose practicality over visual looks. I also noticed a couple of nicks on the lower doors (rockers?) from rocks flying up...mudflaps shut that down in a hurry.

Ordered them after I bought the car, $39 for BMW OEM mudders both front and rear. Took 30 min to install, but I stretched that out to 2 hours and cleaned/waxed each wheel while I had them off.

Your sick like me. I can have a detail job on either car that should take only 15 minutes and two hours, three cups of coffee later I'm done. Gotta love it! :D

LOL Jazzy, yep, I can that "puttzing around the garage"...can be an all day affair, like you said, that *could* be actually done in 15 min. :D

Ripsnort, I think I'm going to use your pics to help convince my wife to let me buy a PC. They're perfect! Awesome shine! Furthermore, it's almost the same car (except we have a sedan).

Thanks for sharing. I can't wait for my PC to come in. I've been postponeing the waxing of my fifth wheel trailer because it is going to be a big job. As soon as my PC gets here that will be the first vehicle for me to machine polish. I figure that way I'll get a good chance to become familiar with the PC's operation before using it on the black car.

Can you go in to detail how you used the PC on your new 330Ci. We just picked up my wife's Jet Black 330Ci on Wed. and want to do the "swirl rremoval" thing before I get some wax on it. Winters almost here! I've used the PC before with great success on my '98, but have not tackled a "brand new" finish before. By the way, car looks great!!!

The owner of this site did some VIDEOS on how to use a PC and they are very informative. I highly recommend that you check them out. :up :up

Thks all for the compliments, and the post above with link to video's is exactly what I did. I was brave, started off with no practice on a rear quarter panel, came out awesome so I did the whole car. Make sure you start out with the finest "polish" of whatever brand you use, for a new finish.

Porter cables run anywhere from $112 to $200, so shop around!(Got mine at coastaltool.com per advice from this great community for $115):)

Steve, just looked at your new wheels~~AWESOME!~ Great looking car. Have fun, and remember to stick to the break in period, its tough, but worth it.
