Just needed one item at the store.....

was just reading a thread and can't find it now about ZFX and DK had mentioned a Sept timeframe for release.

ZFX will provide Zaino an opportunity for instant cure time and back to back to back to back layering instead of waiting anywhere from 7-24 hours so you can have more :bounce

Send DK a pm, he has tested the prod and know its. He seemed to love it.

I had the opportunity to test the soon to be introduced ZFX (or whatever Sal ends up calling it) and it works very well. You simply add the catylist to the Z2 and proceed as normal. No differences. You have up to 6 hours to use the mix. That's more than enough time to do the car. In fact, you could probably do it twice.

<strong class='bbc'>So the Zaino Bros want us to become chemists? [/b]</blockquote>Not much chemistry required to mix two liquids . . .

Say, can I have some NaCl for my fries, and a glass of H<span style='font-size: 8px;'>2O? :D

I'm sure it is "idiot proof." How hard can it be? This is a product that is going to be marketed to millions of people, most of which have less detailing skils than we do. I'm sure its no big deal.

I wonder if Sal is wanting to market this primarily to professional detailers so they can get a couple of coats on in one quick session?

I personally have no problem with the cure time now. One coat is about all I want to do at a time, anyway. Especially when I do the Expedition (it takes me about 2-1/2 hours at a casual pace, start to finish.) I would use it to get a few coats of Zaino on the new vette quick if I had some, though. Should be here this week (the vette, that is.)

Yhey will use bulk generic detailing supplies that cut their costs and add to their profits, provide a nice shine and catch the eye of the customer. They are not overly concerned about durability and most of the time.....neither is the customer figuring that the car will only get washed once every 2-3 months anyhow.

I believe ZFX is ready to go except for the packaging. Sal is working on this and will give us the heads up as soon as it is ready to ship. You guys are gonna love ZFX.....it rocks!

I am definitely going to try ZFX but have wondered how something that instantly cures can be used up to 6 hours after mixing. Does anyone have an answer for this?

The additive accelerates the reaction of crosslinking or "curing." This doesn't start until after the product is applied and dry.

Brad,

Did you try multiple back-to-back application to see how it worked? I'm most interested in the ability to layer without cure time.

Sounds like a great product, but unless it improves the shine and durability besides of the ease-of-use, I'm not that interested.

I prefer to wash, apply a layer, drive for a week, apply another layer, etc. instead of spending all day to apply & remove a biz-illion layers.

Anyone else like to detail each part/thing per week, instead of having one "big-detail-everything" every 1/2 year?

I had good results, and noticed an improvement in gloss and even more in slickness. I heard a rumor that during the testing stage anything over 3 coats at one time was difficult to layer. Zaino was so slick it had problems sticking to itself. One ride outside with even the smallest wind abrasion would provide enough bite for an extra coat, but 3 coats back to back is about the max from what I hear. To do more than that in one day would be a lot of work anyhow..........

Hope this helps........

Actually, that sorta helped, telling me that ZFX is slicker or shinier. I guess I’ll try it out, and see if the difference in slickness or shine is significant enough to keep using it. And Gimp, that’s just like me…

So it was 3:00 pm on the day before Thanksgiving and my wife says, "Could you run up to the store and get me some vanilla extract?"

The silly boy that I am, I wasn't thinking it was the afternoon before the great Thanksgiving feast!

That parking looked like a MINIVAN CONVENTION!!! It took 15 minutes to find a parking space... I was in the store for 5 minutes, thanks to the "Express" line!!! Another 10 minutes getting out of the parking lot!:banghead:

I had just left my quiet docile life to ENTER THE 7TH CIRCLE OF HELL!

People driving the wrong way. (Can't they read the arrows?)
People driving while on the phone.
People sitting with their turn signal on waiting for someone to back out.
People speeding.
People honking.
People flipping other people off.

Home now. All is calm. Happy Thanksgiving.

My wife sent me at 6:00am this morning to get more v.i.p. pie shells and low-fat sugar-free cider. There was no line/no wait

I have however been out a couple more times as the day has progressed and its definately getting crazy out there :out:

I was there at 6:00am also. (But the stuff wasn't on the list!) LOL :cursing::biggrin:

My poor wife has been in the kitchen for 2 days solid. I have done little to nothing to contribute to this feast...:drool5:

I'm so ashamed of myself

Yes you did... You stayed out of her way!!!! Here's a hint. Help her with the clean up after the Thanksgiving meal. (I've been married 25 years, I know what works!)
