Good to hear from you Troy :bigups How are those new plans working out? What were those new plans? I don't think I ever read what was on your horizon.

Total change of career. I am now diving into finish carpentry and also options trading. Both of these present a new challenge that I am looking forward to.

I took detailing as far as I wanted to go. Now I can treat it like many of you which is a relaxing hobby. I can tell you that, after 20 hot summers, working in the A/C will be a welcome change.

Interesting combination of vocations there Troy. :) By finish carpentry are you talking cabinet making or finish out home building kinda stuff? Either way best wishes on your new endeavors.

At least I was able to look at the front page today and not every single new post or thread was by Mike or Meghan...

I can see both sides of the argument (somewhat), but Autopia2 is (seemingly) turning out to be exactly as I had thought it might.

What's the point of a vendor going at it one-on-one in the public forum with a regular member?

What's the point of the discussions and general direction of the forum being controlled by the vendors instead of regular members?

Why didn't AG just merge their two forums together?

And how does it happen that in the span of the first couple of weeks of ownership change that a whole slew of new folks just happen to pop across the site and join?

Right now we are finishing out a 3500sf "guest house". We do cabinets, furniture, staircases and finish out homes. My buddy just landed a big builder so we should be staying pretty busy. Thanks.

I'll admit that I didnt even know the URL for this site until today. Checked the forums a couple times through Tapatalk but havent paid much attention other than that. Ive always loved posting here and helping a noob out of a jam. Hell, Ive given out almost every trick and secret I know to total strangers here..something I would never in a million years do for my competition. Ive become a better detailer because of this site..simple as that. Helping someone take their work to another level is what this site was and should still be about. Weather it stays that way or ends up being another forum that you cant say anything without a mod/sponsor editing your posts to satisfy their agenda, or having a flame war started because someone uses a product not sold by a sponsor, is yet to be seen. I truely hope this forum doesnt end up like that.

Case and point! Thanks JP:D

Nothing says I'm here to help by getting into an argument with a long standing member and potential customer (way to shoot yourself in the foot)

You've got something like 24 posts and your in a heated argument already....:rofl:rofl:rofl

Dude, you don't even know me, but I can tell you like to create controversy and put words in peoples mouth just for kicks. It doesn't matter to me if you do or do not like Prima. This thread is about site feedback and I'm sticking to the point of this thread. I'm not here to attack anybody or discredit them. If that's what makes you happy, then maybe you ought to reconsider your methods as that's not helpful to the community.

And you think I have a big ego? Your signature "Best Detailer??" says it all. There are some people that only look at the details, without understanding the bigger picture. If you look at polishing paint the same way you attack new members then you've got a lot to learn. That's my helpful tip to you.

I'll give you another one. Be humble when faced with a new project or prospect. Don't let your ego dictate the answer. Let the project tell you what it needs, then using your expertise and knowledge, make the best informed decisions to produce the best results.

Have a nice day!

Richard

Not sure what everyone is calling new, when vendors and manufacturers have always participated on this forum. We had numerous manfuctures/vendors through out the years help members with their questions ie. Steve and Pockets from Poorboys, Chris from Optimum, Aaron from Edge, Adams from Adams polishes, Forrest from Mothers, Pad Man From Lake Country, and Autogeek long time sponsor with sections for Pinnacle and Wolfgang. Nothing new here.:USA
