Just how many sealants does CG have?!

Ya know, it's funny. I had a chance to speak to one of the reps over there at CG, and

it just seemed like a very aggressive sales pitch from beginning to almost the very end.

I had asked what was the difference between M-Seal and Jet aside from the price. All

I got for my trouble was the hard sell.

Interestingly enough, I did manage to gleen some insight into the "why". From what

I could gather, some of the products offered are the result of other companies/

businesses having custom mixtures made up for them. It seemed odd to me that

a company like that would sell the same products that are private labeled by others,

but I guess business is business.

I have JetSeal, M-Seal and FS Seal...I've only used JetSeal on my cars last week. I found that it came off really easy compared to Natty's...isn't Natty's supposed to be the easiest to remove?

Weird. I don't know who you spoke to but my experience when talking with Mark and Paul has been always exactly opposite. Two of them were always very honest toward me and always kept my best interest in mind making sure I don't waste my money by buying redundant products or products I don't need.

I agree, I never feel pressured to buy and truely enjoy speaking to Paul.

Its true that the vast selection is a result of private label products. I would assume that it is more cost effective to run a very large batch of a single product than it is to run smaller batches to only satisfy the customers' orders. I would do the same. If they agree to CG selling the same product, maybe under a different name, they order with smaller minimums. If not, the minimum order would probably be too much for the customer. Its all about the numbers and the bottom line in private label business.

Yeah... M-seal looks good (carnauba-y) but doesn't last.

Jetseal 109 is a high-priced "market leader" type product.

Wet Mirror Finish is somewhere in the middle.

About the durability on the M-seal I have to disagre. Does it lose beading quickly? Yes.

But it sure does protect against UV-rays and etc, last summer I did detail a heavily oxzidated(red, white, pink) Peugeot 605. Today one year later it´s still red with very little to none oxid. Or maybee it was the last layer of Natty´s blue who is doing the protection? ;)

I´m impressed.

I'm still trying to figure out exactly what WMF is, but I'm pretty sure, its not a sealant. Unless it has cleaners, because the label says it has micro polish ability, I'm pretty sure its not a sealant.

The main thing that made me hesitating from CG for the longest time was the vast amount of products they carried, many of which seemed redundant. I was and still am confused about where wet-mirror finish fits in and what exactly it is, the difference between M-seal and FS-seal, and the more I read their product description, the more confused I get.

I also hate how hyped up or over-the-top their product descriptions are. To be honest, none of their products so far has blown me away. In fact I've been more disappointed than happy. But the Citrus Wash N' Gloss as a paint cleanser works better than what I was expecting. As a regular car soap, it wasn't anything extraordinary. If you don't believe what I say about their products being hyped up, read the description for the air fresheners, and then go read the reviews on here about them. For a lot of their products, the prices are pretty decent, especially when some of us can pick it up locally. But if you're buying the product believing all the claims they make on the website about the product, you'll be in for a let down.

I've never talked to anyone on the phone, but from visiting the store and talking with Paul, he's not a pushy salesman at all. Keep in mind, he still is a salesman, but he doesn't make you feel obligated to buy anything, nor does he push any products or try to upsell. I feel that he gives his honest opinion and helps you to the best of his ability. Because of the in-store experience, I would still give them my business.

With the stuff I have recieved from CG I have been pleased with and also enjoy talking to Paul which makes the experience with CG that much better. However I 100% agree that reading the website descriptions can confuse and aggrivate me. I think CG needs someone new to redo the website with better descriptions and less hype. Paul tells it like it is about the products he sells and is IMO up front and honest about everything I have purchased.

It is my understanding so far that I should treat WMF as glaze before LSP.

Yes, majority of their products is not the #1 product in the world, but are very good in economy, bang for the buck, segment. Still, they do have products that I liked a lot, like 50/50, and ONE. Also it seemed to my (inexperienced) eye that WMF did result in some extra ... mirror? ... look on my black Supra.

Have ya'll noticed a few other on-line retailers have some "Billy Mays" like advertising on their stuff. When I was just getting into this - I believed most of that crap like it was the holy grail, now I'm a lot less trusting!

To answer the question in the subject heading, the answer seems to be (for myself): Too many.

Count me in as another one who was turned off by the sheer number of products and what I perceived to be an unfavorable signal to noise ratio.

I'm certain they have great products. Thankfully this forum exists so I can hear real world results rather than having to cull through the marketing talk.

I can see that I might be trying some of their Citrus wash and microfiber towels in the future.

This thread has made me laugh, some of the responses are too funny.

"I also hate how hyped up or over-the-top their product descriptions are."

Yeah, like chemical guys is the only one who does this. You know what a hyped up product is, zaino.

"They have to many products, its too confusing"

Wah, Come on now, its not that confusing.

I thought it was confusing too, but I've tried almost all of them and there are differences between all of them. I also went back and checked the site and found that there are only 4 sealants listed.

M-Seal Micro Finish Factory Paint Sealant -Protection System (Anti-Static)

EXTREME TOP-COAT PAINT SEALANT+ 3X CARNAUBA

Blitz Acrylic Spray Sealant (Superior Sealant & Wax Booster)

FS PURE ACRYLIC CRYSTALINE HIGH GLOSS SEALANT -Protection System (Anti-Static)

and of course, JetSeal 109, makes 5.

Zaino has Z2, Z3, Z5, and Z-CS, that's 4. And they all have the same end results. Others may have different opinions, but that's just mine.

If you call Paul at CG, he'll also help you out with what you're trying to accomplish.

Yup, Zaino products end up the same. Has anyone tried the new Meguiars 21 sealant or the Ultima?
