Well, they don't have anything on Einzsett, which leads to me to believe they did not test it.

There are qiute a few other waxes I did not see.

Can you say this test is... slanted!

Especially, when THE most expensive brand won hands down? give me a break. Really makes me question the validity of the web site and the organization as a whole.

Zymol Concours won the test? Oh wow... Looks like my $120 can of wax wasn't such a waste after all!!

All kidding aside... what makes you think they are so slanted?

For beginners, they did not test all waxes. So why should I believe anything else they test from that fact alone?

Do you know how many different waxes there are? There are probably thousands from all around the world. To suggest they should test every single one is absurd.

What do you mean the MOST expensive brand won??:nixweiss

Zymol was the most expensive, but it didn't win! It didn't even rank that high on anything!:nono

BTW, Zaino won(not that much $$)

They couldn't test EVERY wax! The magazine would be ten times as thick! They tried to test the waxes/sealants that were most commonly available/used. Einszett is only NOW getting usage in America commonly. Give them a break!

Also keep in mind that the #2 wax (P21S) is only $25. It's S100 brother is only $15. It actually beat Zaino in initial aesthetics, so I think your points are invalid. What makes Zaino relatively costly is that it is an entire system. Z1 + Z2 is around $25 and truthfully speaking you could get away with just those.

Perhaps you could just take it with a grain of salt and assume that among the waxes tested, this is how they ranked overall.

Other than 1Z, what other waxes did you have in mind?

Tony

absurd indeed. then why did they even attempt the test?

am i being absurd to question their reasoning, or are they being absurd by being exlcusive? i seriously doubt there are so many waxes (thousands?), that they just couldn't test them all. the test was slanted/skewed from the start, and while it may offer a wealth of insight to the people using those particular products, it is ultimately flawed because it is incomplete. and yes, i have a problem with that... it is my opinion founded only on the facts that are presented to me.

Einzsett is not a small name, nor an exlcusive product... hard to come by? maybe... small following here in the states? small but increasing.

They also seemed to use the most popular waxes of the enthuisiasts detailer. In particular, the most commonly used brands that are used by our very board members were tested.

Then you would be seriously wrong.

By your logic your bashing of thier report is slanted/skewed because you have not read every wax review currently available in print today.

In reality, I noted your user ID, almost no test reviews or polls are "absolute", meaning all available items are tested or polled. It's simply not able to be done without major expensive and countless man hours. You want every wax available tested? Fine. Care to pony up $20,000 to buy just he Zymol products? Who do you think all that expense is going to be passed along to? Is it worth investing major money to test a product which less than 1% of the market actually uses? For these reasons people use sampling, you take the main stream "average" products and test them. This practice allows the magazine to reach the most amount of people with the lowest possible expense. It's very common.

So they didn't test your favorite product, get over it.

No, I won't get over it. Why should I? It's my personal opinion. Einzsett is a product used by many enthusiasts, like myslf, who like to take care of our cars. It is not mainstream for the non-enthusiast consumer, but they are well known among enthusiasts, especially the VW crowd. Even so, many of their products tested did not look mainstream either... is Zaino something someone shopping at Wal-Mart might want to purchase? Anyone can get a free sample from Einzsett, all they have to do is ask. And i'm sure, had 1Z known of the test they would have been more than willing to give them more than the sample amount.

Now if I really wanted to bash them I could go on to mention how they seemed to have misgraded the Meguires wax as others here have noted.

You Can Sit Here All Day And Pick Apart What They Did and How It Can Be Done Better, Bottom Line, They Did It And No One Else Did. They Put In The Time And The Money.

I Have Nothing But Respect and Gratitude For The Time and Efffort Steve and The Rest Of The Guru Reports Team Put Into Testing Products.

And As Far As Free Samples, They Will Not Accept Any Type Of "Promotional Material From Any Manafacturer, Vendor, Retailer, Distributor, Service Provider, or Third Party Who Acts On Behalf Of A Manafacturer." In Other Words, They Buy What They Test.

Masterofreality,RELAX,use Einszett, many people do,if You have some extra money, send it to them, they will make a test for You,until than, respect what they did, ok?:wavey

And the hits juuuuuuust keep on coming.

Let's not forget that the test was 100% independent from any industry source and 100% of the costs came out of the pocket of ONE PERSON.

If you can do better than that then be a man and step up. Or better yet, donate $100,000 and I'm sure you can get all the credit and public attention from future wax test evaluations.
